Prices keep going up...

I've had Belle by Kim Gravel's Poolside Zip Up Hoodie (A601141) in my wishlist for quite awhile.

I see the inventory now is very limited (a pop up keeps saying 'sellout risk'). Since COVID, it is rare that items get restocked anymore...mostly one and done. This is an item I would think 'might' be restocked for Spring/Summer with a new/additional color, but I doubt I'd be lucky enough to get the navy & white in my size for the prices I got them for tonight if I had waited.

I can't believe the price is now $78.75...

So I decided to scout around to see what is available...

I got the navy hoodie - 'As Is' A631517 for $43.75

I got the white hoodie through Ebay for under $30 w/FREE S&H

DH ordered me a pendant for Valentines and he was disappointed it didn't even come with a throw away chain.

I started looking and I didn't realize how expensive gold chains were.

I did good and found an EG 14k rope chain on eBay. Free shipping and I offered $144 and was accepted 3.3 grams

@SaveTheTurtles I'm still in shock over the price for the hoodie. As for quality overall, I think it depends on the garment. I also have purchased many that had poor reviews for the quality and I thought the opposite.

You read my mind! Watching D&Co, and their clearance price for a French terry hoodie is what the regular price used to be....add S/H and it makes it even more. I enjoy watching Gary and Jayne, but ordering less than ever. Also, it's great they now offer 'adaptive' and have models to showcase the items, but there are no petite models in the Tues a.m. shows...so much for inclusivity.

I find that if something has been around for a while and is popular (they manufactured many) then usually one can find it on Ebay brand new for a fraction of the price! ....and often with free & fast shipping!

I only buy from sellers who will take returns as I have returned a few items and have always been issued a refund.

Prices ALWAYS go up. That's the nature of economics. Inflation only happens when it it goes up too quickly. But it's normal for yearly increases for base prices. You certainly see it in homes. That American dream is to own a home. Yet many are stuck renting homes, unable to save enough for a down payment.

At QVC, I've seen at diamonique. Increasingly items that normally was between $40.00 to $60.00 is now $70.00 to over $100.00.

Pretty much the same with clothing.

@haddon9 I have been behind the 8-ball, so to speak, for years when it came to buying garments through Ebay. Up until then, I had placed orders for many items on Ebay, but just never clothes. I guess in the past there was always so much more 'as is' on QVC dot com in the past that satisfied my needs. The # of 'as is' offered now has been lowered by a lot...probably being sold to the sellers on Ebay...lol

Hence my started taking a chance through Ebay,,,

I am so grateful for the sellers there now. BTW, one of the sellers I used most is now shut down...don't know why. It was a shock to find that out and can't find a reason when I try googling for info. I don't know if it is wise to mention the name of the seller/company or not here. What do you think?

Since others shop there for clothes, maybe some will know which seller I'm talking about...they stopped selling about 6 months ago now...give or take a month or 2.

@Susan Louise I shop from several sellers on Ebay. What I do is if there something that I'm interested in here and it's been selling here for some time, I'll check Ebay to see if anyone has what I'm interested in. It has to be new (not pre-owned) and of course my size and color that I like. It also has to be from a seller that accepts returns...just in case.

Another thing that I find helpful is that many sellers on Ebay will use the photos and even the Q item number so I know that what I'm buying is in fact what I see over here.

I've only been doing this for around a year myself. Better late than never!

As for mentioning the name of the Ebay shop, I don't think it can hurt. I tend to shop by what item I'm interested in having not necessarily by browsing shops there.

An Update:

I just received this Belle hoodie in the white from Ebay today. I am so glad I got it. The navy one I'm still waiting to receive from QVC.

The biggest reason I got these hoodies when I did is the price. This hoodie is NOT worth the current QVC price by any stretch of the imagination. The actual QVC price really should be the current 'As Is' price at most...

This is why:

The fit is true to size. Since I am still between a XS & S, I chose the S so I could layer. The sleeves are a bit on the short side...great for those who are petite. As for myself (5'7"), they are duable.

The material is nothing special. Of coarse it is on the thin side because it's suppose to be a lightweight piece for the warmer months. I expected it to be so. The zipper is quality too.

I would give the hoodie 4 stars overall. Again, I'm glad I got the hoodies...no regrets. If I had waited for a better deal at either Ebay or QVC I would more than likely out of luck getting the size/colors I wanted...AND at decent prices. I would not pay a penny more than what I paid at the QVC 'As Is' price for this garment.

HTH anyone who was also interested in this hoodie. Maybe this hoodie will become a lunchtime or primetime special in the future. I thought of that possibility, but still wondered if by waiting to find out, my size/colors would sell out in the meantime. Currently the inventory is very low since the pop up says 'sellout risk'.

On the otherhand, if it does gets restocked, I'm guessing the sale price will be in the $59-65 range. There just is no way of knowing, but those are my guesses.
