My mother loves qvc and watches faithfully.

She is short, no other word would suffice. She is under 5 feet, probably around 4' 10 to 4'11 at most. It is nearly criminal to sell items for the petite at 5'2".

Every item we order has to be taken up. The tops go to her knees and look like dumpy dresses, the pants need so much cut off, i might be able to get shorts out of them.

Stop making every top tunic length, not everyone needs to cover their butt due to inappropriate pants or leggings. We just want a top that is about 22 to 23 inches in length, with 3/4 sleeves as these will be long sleeve for her and many others.

You think your pricing is great, but in reality its not when i have to take it to a dress maker and have it shortened at 15 to 20 dollars a piece.

I think you can do better and reallly work with the designers to get shorter tops especially. I hope others will confirm as i know they are out there.

Yup, "some" from the Q, and a lot from HSN...

QVC is going to sell clothing to fit the majority of the customer base. There will always be people with body challenges who are very tall or very short, and cannot b3 accommodated because there are too few of them. QVC, more than any retailer I know, has knocked themselves out carrying many petites, extended sizes and adaptive styles. There's no way they can stock clothing for every person on the planet.

I am definitely petite sizing at 5'3". I have shorter legs and a longer torso. I would say 90% of my wardrobe is from QVC and HSN and I am not lacking in any apparel. When I was working, before retiring, I never wore the same outfit twice in a calendar year.

There are plenty of options at both sites but there are also plenty of other retailers, both online and brick & mortar. I don't think you should rely so heavily on just QVC. Shop around, there are many options.

So, I guess for me, QVC has plenty for me in pants, tops and dresses. I can tell this is upsetting for you but criminal?

Petite is generally from 5' 4" and shorter. When an item is extremely off in fit, a lot of people need to alter them or search for alternatives. Then, there's always having clothes custom made.

I have to alter my pants.

I think those measurments are an industry standard

and could your Mom wear teenager size clothes?

I'm a petite at 5'1" but I recently came across a company that sells not only regular petites but for extra short women too. Sadly, I just don't remember the name of that company.

I agree about 3/4 sleeves. Sometimes they are almost full length on me and cropped or ankle pants can be full length too.

"Nail on the head" ... we need petite proportioned clothing!! Not only bottoms (which the petite ones are still too long for "shrinking" me), but also tops (most fit tunic 'ish on me which means they grab the backside because they hit at the wrong place and the sleeves are too long). Other retailers offer petite sizing consistently, including Plus Petite. Why not QVC?

Yes. Because they are geared more to younger consumers, the tops overall are shorter then anything at QVC. All the stores Banana Republic, Loft, Ann Taylor, etc. Shorter tops are there. Plenty of 24" tops and no they are not labeled as Petites. I'm short 5'3", but small. I don't have to cover up my rump. I was shopping at Lulemon and got at 22" top the other day.

Another thing. Many women are shrinking. Plenty of those are viewers of QVC. They're retired. They may have started at 5'4" but now standing at 5'1". QVC does offer petites in dresses and pants. But rarely for tops.

I agree that garment length is a problem if one is petite. May I suggest looking in stores in other departments like juniors. The boys dept. is an option for solid sweat pants and tees.

It helps if you can do basic sewing alterations yourself. I can shorten a simple dress hem or pants. Jeans and knits are beyond my skill level.
