At 16 I would have been horrified to wear such monstrosities. At 61 I find some of them appealing.

My GrandMother said the suits were made of wool , not the synthetic material we have now a days . She said she wore those wool suits in the 1920's as she lived near a beach resort town.

Bet they smelled like wet dogs. I can't imagine all that gritty sand stuck in the suits.

Reminds me of watching years ago a segment of 'California's Gold' with Huell Howser visiting Hearst Castle and got invited to take a swim in the Neptune Pool with other invities of the general public, Huell wore a swim suit like back in the 20's with long trunks, that was so funny.
