Denim & Co Heritage collection

Just heard a brief description of a shirt the other day by Gary abt Denim & Co

" Heritage " collection . I see there are ab 15 items listed under this description .Any idea what this line is to represent ?

Denim & Co Canyon resort to me is like Coldwater creek clothing style . When the word Heritage that to me makes me think of a Talbots style of clothes.

Now Isaac has an " Estate line " under his line . Are these attempts at more

tradition generational styles rather than trendy ?

What are your thoughts ?

Just my opinion, and maybe I've got it all wrong, hehehe, but it seems to me like a marketing ploy or tactic, to divide the brands into more categories to make them all appear to be more niche, exclusive, fancier, boutique-ish.

Look maybe it's me but rebranding and frequent sub-sub-sub branding confuse me and tend to irritate me. Maybe 3 branches off the tree -after that I can't remember or care.

Just a marketing ploy to charge higher prices for a supposedly "rich, elegant, upscale, etc...." look. Sorry I am not impressed with "Madison Avenue" and all that jazz....

I understood the "Heritage" collection to be designs based on what the original D&Co was when it all started. Pretty much classic pieces w/o trendy elements, traditional D&Co.

Heritage means from the past.

I applaud the attempt towards more traditional and less trendy. However, it is important to consider that quality is a critical component of traditional.

Trying to take the line from 'casual/frumpy' to 'town & country'. It's a marketing ploy to justify higher prices.

@PhilaLady1 Yes in my opinion I don't think any of these side steps under the D&Co umbrella are any different than anything else here or in B&M stores. Let's face it, it's all just the same things over and over, they just like to give them a new but old name.

The only thing that changes to go with a new name to entice is a new price tag. None of it's cheap, nothing special, it all looks the same.

@ALRATIBA RIGHT??????????????? If I'm having my shirt cuff embroidered, it will reflect my own initals, certainly not some random brand name. I'm not advertising that for them.

Oh so many years ago in high school in fact, I had a button-down long sleeve tannish gold oxford shirt whtch i had the opportunity to have my initials embroidered on the cuff. And so I did, my mom said I could and she paid for it. It cost hardly anything to do. It looked cool, I really liked it though I never flaunted it but you could see it peeking out under a pullover sweater.

Yeah, not buying a d&co shirt with their marking on it. The label inside the neckline reflects the brand. No one knows who this brand is, I'm not explaining it.

What they should do is offer us the opportunity to have our initials embroidered on the cuff. Now that I would go for!

It does not matter to me what they call it, its still Denim & Co. to me, same with the others mentioned.

Probably a new trend in the fashion world, which to me is strange anyway.

Dennis Basso had stated his last theme of his NY Fashion week show was Great American Families and concept of " Generational " dressing . He described it as the classics that women of all ages would appreciate and wear .

Articles in Forbes and Town & Country magazines .

So, are QVC lines wanting to cash in on this as many of us on these boards have been asking for those classic styles reminiscent of RL .

Despite not being a fan of Joan Rivers as I did not like her style of comedy ,

I tried some of the Joan Rivers items but found some pieces made of cheap fabric and poor seamstress work, however their brand ambassador Bitsey does an excellent job representing the line . She demonstrates 3 ways to wear an item and looks great in all the clothes.

There are a lot of brand extensions lately. If it means more clothing choices, that can be a good thing. I still shop and buy more clothes from other places, but recently, I've actually found more fashion on the Q that I'm interested in buying.

Bought this dress & used the QVC Fall Coupon a couple weeks ago. Still too warm to wear it.

I looked at the 19 items and I like them. There's a classic Oxford cotton button down shirt. There's a nice pair of corduroy pull on pants that look like they fit great. This is a line of very classic styles, kind of the original look from Ralph Lauren back in the 80's. I'm considering the shirt right now. 98%cotton, 2% spandex. The only thing is that I wish it was a little longer. In the 80's this shirt would have been worn tucked in and it didn't need to be longer, but these days we wear many shirts out, so a little it more length would help. The prices were no higher than other D&C.

I think having Suzanne the model shus up the sleeves is not a good idea. It doesn't look good with the cuffs on this shirt.

(How the heck do you spell shus, as in such up the sleeves?)

@wilma Oops, it went back up. I got an adjustment of $18 and something the other day. Timing is everything!

That's a cute dress. I ordered it too. I have an in person office meeting in October so hopefully the weather will be cool enough to wear it. It seemed like a good choice. Not a suit but something appropriate for the office but still comfortable.
