It's 98% lyocell. Garments made of that fiber are always expensive .

Many QVC prices are laughable. I just received a 100% Lyocell dress from Macys for way under $50. It was a wrinkled mess when I received it but after washing came out beautifully--no ironing needed. Great fabric.

I don't order items that I feel are overpriced or out of my budget.

High end stores sell a LOT of high priced items I don't think are worth it.

However, that is to ME! LOL

Doesn't mean they should take them off the racks.

Lyocell is a semi-synthetic fiber used to make textiles for clothing and other purposes. It is a form of regenerated cellulose made by dissolving pulp and dry jet-wet spinning. Unlike rayon made by some of the more common viscose process. Lyocell doesn't use carbon disulfide which is toxic to workers and the environment. Lyocell was originally trademarked as Tencel in 1982.

To produce Lyocell you need specific technology, which makes the manufacturing process quite expensive. Therefore, Lyocell ends up costing more to buyers, in comparison to traditional fibers like cotton, in simpler terms ,Lyocell is more expensive than other fabrics on the market.

I bought a 100% Lyocell long-sleeve button down from Target for $21 last year so it doesn't always mean it has to have a high price tag.

The Q seems proud of their increasing prices, in spite of a serious decline in the quality and unpredictable sizing. I check out reviews, fabric content, and (in one store) place of origin. Also, note that many "review" areas only have 1 listed which is always positive. Hmm.

Just for the record, Q, less 5-3 star ratings, more 1-2 star ratings are common place and MORE long-time customers are expressing their total frustration with you. The competition is NOT showing this disregard for customers and their prices are not excellerating at your rates.

I bought some really nice 100% lyocell shirts from Walmart. The brand is Time and Tru. They cost a whopping $17 and the quality is outstanding.

SilleeMee bought a lyocell shirt at Wal Mart for $17. Qvc's Side Stitch is WAY over priced, if you figure in that purchase.

No they're not. Q just has ridiculous prices. I buy denim shirts at The Gap and Old Navy for much less.

@ellaphant agree, just purchased quality denim from there for 1/3 of the cost and they ship to your door in half the time

@elated .............Thanks for your information. Back in the 80's I did have a few items made with the tencel. I loved that fabric. I am willing to pay more for items with the lyocell material, but IMO the price for that shirt is ridiculously high.

There are lyocell clothing on Amazon a lot cheaper.

But if someone else likes and wants to buy it, hey go for it. Im sure you will like it, great material.
