Against my better judgment, I took a look. Big nothing!

So the host tapped a few things on her phone, and appeared to be ordering an on-air item. Do you not think the show producer was in on this and quite alright with it, probably even encouraging it?

They want people to use their apps. I'm sure the host was simply demonstrating how easy it is.

Actually, it was more about creating panic buying and FOMO. The item in that color/size was sold out. That was what she was showing on her phone. And the vendor rep kept saying you gotta buy it now.

I'm not at all sad I missed out on said item.

David sometimes brings out his phone to show how easy it is to use the app, but he doesn't try to create a panic to get the product being sold.

@september While I find it frustrating when I'm trying to shop myself, I totally agree with you that this ordering on air must be sanctioned or even wholeheartedly encouraged my management and the producers.

Julia Cearley did the same thing, even more dramatically, this morning during the Denim & Co. show.

I said as such in the other thread the OP started about Monifa doing this. Seems like a bit of overkill now with a 2nd thread about it.

Whatever. Nothing happens on those shows that is not planned and that the producers aren't aware of. It was just a little entertainment. It's Monifa's weight loss that surprised and impressed me! She looks great.

@Kachina624 that is likely true for customers who watch the live presentations. I don't, and wouldn't know this took place, if I didn't read about it here.

I still wouldn't care, if I saw it take place live. I'd prefer this, to other selling tactics that go on. Such as " this is what everyone in wearing in the Hamptons!"

It's a sales ploy (and a stupid one at that). Hosts don't really order most of the time.

If the host is actually purchasing on air, it just goes to show that they don't have a clue as to the line up of the show they are presenting or haven't done any product homework.

If they did, they would order before they came on set.

Please just present the items with product info. If you haven't done any preshow prep, then just read the blue card. I don't care how many you own or what you are going to buy. I don't care how many thousands are left in blue.

Oh, and please don't spend 20 minutes on one item.

@Kachina624 It surprises me that you feel this strongly about it. As many as they sell? Unless the host is ordering 300 it's not making any difference if they really are ordering--which is highly unlikely don't you think?
