Fashion is too over priced at q

I went to factory outlet today. I bought beautiful and modern clothes half the price of what Q offers. They don’t even have half of their past good designers anymore . Everything in stores were lace and chiffon with unusual sleeves, things that you never see on Q. I am now reducing my clothes shopping at Q. I also found outstanding deals at Macys during their friends and family sale. Check them out since tomorrow would be the last day of sale. You would not be sorry. All my shippings from Macys were free as well.

I completely agree. There are many other places on line that offer better prices AND free shipping. There was a handbag I was looking at on QVC. Macy had the same bag for the same price, but with free shipping and points towards my macys account. The company that makes the bag also had the same price on their website, and also had free shipping! Why would I pay more at the Q for the same merchandise!

For the most part, I feel clothing is over-priced no matter where you shop! However, bargains can be had, but a person has to be able to spend time looking and also there are other factors involved. Some people cannot physically go to stores, either due to health issues, or there are just not stores available or near. And shopping on line or from t.v. is their best or only option. As for myself, I shop primarly for clothing at b&m stores because I love doing so, but there aren't many retail stores left around me. I have always comparison shopped and waited for sales. But to be honest, it does involve some time and energy. I think for places like the Q, you pay for the convenience -- which does matter for a lot of people.

It's aways been my bugaboo with the Q. But I live in a large city with lots of choices and there are literally always sales.

I wore a uniform at work, when I retired I didn't have any clothes, at least not anything purchased recently. I tried a Nadine West subscription for a while, making note of the brands. I started virtually shopping around and found similar items at half the price. I even found items on Ebay. I'm talking about the brand, the size & the fabric equal to what I was getting from NW.

I also find Q clothes at thrift stores.

Way back in the day I purchased several Gabriella T sweaters. Loved them.

Somewhat true, but it's the convenience we also pay for, no running around/ time and gas spent, to find what you want! Also, for me, I get overwhelmed when there are tooo many choices- The Q works well for me, at this time-

I ordered a Dennis Basso faux leather skirt for just under $50. Not bad if it is good quality. It's hit or miss shopping on line, but certainly a bit easier.

I can find everything I want elsewhere for less money. It pays to price shop.

I don't understand why people emphasize the "convenience" of shopping at QVC so they don't have to go to b&m stores. EVERY retailer that I know of has a website. No need to leave home to shop even without the shopping channels.

And I LOVE Macy's although I haven't been inside the store to shop in over 3 years. Blair and Lands End also have great sales, products and a website. Do not understand this loyalty/addiction to the overpriced QVC.

I like to shop around. I enjoy it. I also like certain things from the Q as well.

I have learned what works and doesn't work for me and brands as well. Where made and all that makes a difference on fit on me.

I spend what fits my budget and what I feel is worth the price.

Example: Kim's shorts are priced higher than what I need to spend on shorts. I have purchased shorts that I love the fit and spent half that price. I have some of her pants and capris and worth every penny to me but the shorts are not my style. So easy pass for me but I am sure for others they are worth it.

@AngelPuppy1 Well said! Stop judging others by your own circumstance. Good for you if you like to shop online. I don't! I despise sitting in front of a screen searching for something and then guessing about size, shape, and color. I prefer to watch a model, a competent host, and a vendor explain a garment or product to me. i do not browse the QVC site. I buy what I see on air, at the time I see it on air. I have limited mobility and cannot physically shop B&M stores easily.

What is expensive to one person is affordable to another. If something is too expensive in your mind, don't buy it.

Many people in rural areas do not have access to reliable internet services. Suggesting they should shop online in these remote areas in laughable. They are fortunate to have satellite TV. They are isolated and lonely. QVC fills many needs.

Yes, but remember too....there are many, many convenient online options now too. And free shipping sometimes. And easy free returns with many. And quicker credits issued. All things that also are more convenient.

On that note...I'm still waiting for credit and return confirmation on an item I returned to Q, 2 1/2 wks ago. I also had to follow up with an email to expedite this (no response yet), something I never have to do with Amazon, LOFT, Grace and Lace, and any other online retailer.

Not telling people here not to continue to shop Q if that's what they like, just reminding you that if it's convenience you need there's so many convenient options out there for you!

If you are waiting on your credit too long, and I agree, too long, it's best to use the live chat if you have a computer because it's usually fixed right away at least that's been my experience. Or simply call. But email,is the last thing I would do.

@KittySoftPaws Thanks for that reminder, I will. That keeps changing...in the past I did get results from emails. Also, I thought the online community responses had stopped, post Covid times, but I will follow up here or call...thanks again!

Anyone who thinks prices for clothing here are too high should just not shop here and go where there are cheaper prices instead of posting here about it. Everyone has reasons for shopping where they want. For me, wasting time and gas and rooting through clothing that has been handled, tried on and picked over by many (so of course prices should be cheaper) does not appeal to me at all! Others, like me, also do not want to spend time trying to save a few bucks price shopping and just order when I see something whether it is here or an other online retailer.

I have a couple of Q favorites: Graver and Mizrahi. I love their clothes and I always can count on good fit. Can't remember when I last had to return anything. There are one or two other vendors that I buy from occasionally, but these two are my favorites. I have a price limit no matter the vendor. I abhor going shopping. The Q fashions work well for me. I'm satisfied.

I don't understand why posters come to this board to post that they don't want to buy from the Q. I personally don't like to browse all over the web researching clothing.

That's just how I feel about it and I purchase what and where I want, even at qvc. I believe that most posters are well aware that they can price shop and don't need to be told about it.

I live in the most convenient city to do shopping and I do, when I feel like I can deal with the crowds, and the overpricing I encounter. Overpricing is everywhere, not only at QVC.

I also shop at Marshall's, TJ MAXX etc. Then when I wear the items and walk around my neighborhood; I see many of my neighbors wearing the same clothes. 😆

Many of these items are one season wear and discard. I am lucky if I get that out of them. Paying $15 to $40 in these stores for tops and bottoms, I don't expect them to last.

If I see things that catch my eye and I like them, I buy them. Whether in stores or on line or at the Q.

I like the format at QVC...even if I complain at times. I like the 30 day policy, whether I use it or not. At least I know it's there, if I need it.

I like shopping when I don't even realize I'm shopping. Sometimes I just have Q on and something catches my eye.

I like easy pay because there are times I can not afford to buy something on the spot, and with easy pay it allows me to.

Macys doesn't do that for me. So if I see something I really like I can't always get it on the spot.

Burlington Coat Factory has lay away in my area.
I have used it. I thought I was just browsing one day, passing time, and came across a coat. I loved it and there was just 1.

I didn't have the amount right then and there. They won't hold it for you, unless you initiate their Lay away plan. I really didn't want to miss the opportunity, and so I ran to the bank for the cash. When I got back there; they already put interest charges on the purchase.
That doesn't happen to me on the Q. Especially, if I keep up my credit card payments.

I'm happy that you found retailers that fit into your budget. There are many of them which is why I never understood why people complain about QVC prices. Shoppers can find beautiful clothing and accessories at all price points. I buy most of my clothing from QVC and HSN and I have no problems with the prices. But I also buy things from Old Navy when they have sales. Which seem to be weekly now. I got an email from them this morning.

Having been in clothing and then hard line retail for my entire career until my now job in food service, I have spent more time in malls and b&m stores than I can count. That's why most of my shopping is online and includes QVC. Yes, prices may be cheaper elsewhere but having been on the other side of merchandising the clothing, selling it, taking returns, cleaning up fitting rooms (as in clothes all over the floor) I'd rather have fresh and non handled items whenever possible. 😁

My sentiments exactly. My late mom introduced me to QVC 35 years ago. She passed 18 years ago when she was 86. She was a lifelong fashionista and bought everything from QVC. Shortly before she passed, we were mall walking and I suggested that she shop for some pants in Macy's. Her response was "I'm not buying pants there! "A hundred axx's have been in those pants!" And that got me thinking....lol I shop at many stores now but only online.
