SATURDAY AM CHECK-IN

I didn't see the usual Sat. morning thread, so figured I'd get started.

Passed the wig show looking for my morning news channel. I have one in grey/silver from years ago...still in good shape, but never wear it.

Today is exciting...Uh, no! Going shopping for towels and sheets and swinging by the grocery store on the way home. Getting used to my Wegman"s...still so big it feels like a trip to COSTCO. Lol

An early wedding to do tonite and then I have a dinner out with DH and another couple. Fajias and quac...Yum!

Thanks for getting us started Shanus. I noticed AM Style is on an hour later than usual ... wonder if this is going to be the new time going forward.

Nothing planned for the weekend ... I think we're supposed to get snow later today and hope it's negligible.

ETA ... just noticed the show is a "beauty edition " ... won't be watching.

@Shanus We just got a new Wegman's about a mile from my house. I don't know why but it is much smaller than the other Wegman's in my area. The aisles on the grocery and produce side of the store are very narrow with more space in the meat, bakery and prepared foods section. I also have found that they don't carry a wide variety of grocery items. I still shop there as they have awesome produce and meats.

@ninjawife Just getting used to our store. Need to avoid the bread/bakery area...dangerous! Got hooked on the pretzel rolls. Lol The store here is huge! Great meats, dairy items not found in other stoeres, too.

DH loves Wegman's and is happy to go for me. I like Target....makeup, food and clothing all in one place. Yay!

Good morning everyone, my list today includes heading to a couple of estate sales with my mom, and the usual Saturday activities...laundry, grocery shopping, and a quiet evening at home.

@CAcableGirl2 Sounds like fun. I have never made it to an Estate sale, Keep meaning to do that, but just never have. It's on the To Do List. Have fun and get a bargain.

@Shanus It's Beauty Day, Ms Shanus.....thought you'd be glued to the Q to see if you agree with all the presentations!

Always read on the Kitchen Blog about Wegman's. None in my area. I'm 3 miles from Sam's, Costco, Aldi's, GFS (Gordon Food Service), WalMart, Target and about 4 miles from our local HUGE Giant Eagle Market District. GE is a standard in my area. Been going there since I rode in the cart! Even with that all said, your Wegman raves make me jealous.

Good Morning Style Sisters My shopping this week included a new utility tub faucet with 4 new shut off valves and a new section of copper pipe. I also bought two new tires for my car with the intention of buying the other two in a couple of months.

I know how to have a good time

After watching a couple of DIY videos on restringing Christmas tree lights I've decided to start that project this weekend.

@Bird mama I am always amazed by the projects you undertake. Good for you. As for Fashion, not too excited to wear those tires you bought. After the holiday food splurges, I need to REMOVE the tire forming around my middle!! LOL

Good Morning--My QVC has no picture today. The problem started last night. However, beauty holds no interest for me. I am off anyway to sit with my mother. She is 96, very ill, and has advanced dementia. Her caregiver sometimes needs a break. So, I was with my mother two days

this week, and I have just agreed to take over for a few hours, starting today, on Saturdays. Until about a month ago, I could have mother wrap up holiday decorations, help unwrap winter decorations, or put cookie dough on trays to bake. However, she is worse now. So I have started just listening to music with her and providing food or something to drink.

It would be a perfect weekend to do ours, too (cloudy, gloomy ... maybe snow), except I haven't received the W2 forms yet. They usually come at the end of January.

Good morning!

No news here.

The developer has been working on grading other lots this week. Lots of noisy dump trucks, diggers/excavators, etc. that start at dawn & finish at dusk.

The house nearest to me is having their basement finished, so sawing, pounding, etc. noise there.

I'm having out-of-town guests on Tuesday overnight, so I'll be doing any last-minute errands this weekend.

I saw some gorgeous sweaters online this week but didn't give in to temptation.

My neighbor has taken a part-time job as a high school monitor and is pushing me to apply for an admin assistant there that has been open all year.

I don't think I'm ready to go to work where there's a couple thousand kids with covid still out there occasionally, especially since my brother just had it.

I also never want to work full-time again, and the drastic decrease in salary is no incentive.

But, maybe I should never say never...

I've been working on the other novel that I had started and am getting closer to ending it. It always makes me nervous when I'm figuring out an ending - I make many trips to the kitchen then LOL.
