denim jumper

I just ordered a denim jumper from National. Had one similar years ago. Now I am second guessing myself. I love the look but wonder if I will look dated. I am 72 years old.

I wore jumpers (the dress kind, not sweater which is what they call them in the UK) when I was in school back in the 1960's. I haven't seen anyone wearing one for years.

Do you have a photo? That could help to see how it looks.

@redbird I have one that i have had for years. I wear mine with a long/short sleeve T or a button up shirt. I really like mine. I hope you will like yours also!

I used to wear jumpers, both for work and for casual wear. I loved them! But I haven't worn one in 30+ years, and haven't seen anyone else wearing them recently.

Helen Alderson (All Creatures Great and Small) always wore denim when she was single and lived with her father and sister on the farm. That was during the 1930's. And I'm not sure if what she wore was a "jumper" or just plain overalls.

I think it will look dated. If you are questioning it now, you will question it while you are wearing it and feel uncomfortable.

Thanks for posting that picture...that's what I saw and I think it's cute. I would want it above the knee for myself and can see wearing when weather is good enough for just a tee underneath.

Vermont Country Store has some cute denim jumpers also. Since I am no longer working and having to dress "corporate" I dress for myself and wear what I want.

I say if you want to wear a jumper by all means do it! Maybe you are ahead of a new "trend" or rather choosing to wear retro, or vintage Wear it with confidence and a smile and you'll look great.

@redbird nothing dated about it. Even Stevie Wonder could tell you that. Pop a red T shirt under it and away you go.

JUmper refers to a sweater in the UK not sure if that is still in use

she has on overalls and a jumper

There's a way to update and wear absolutely anything. That's called having your own personal style. Get it, wear it, enjoy it.

It seems to be "anything goes" today...pajama bottoms, barely there and see-thru tops, cheeks hanging out of shorts, rips and holes in jeans....if you're comfortable in a jumper, wear it!
