Pantone's Color of the Year 2023

Viva Magenta was announced as the Pantone 2023 Color of the year.

In an interview, VP of Pantone Color Institute Laura Pressman stated "The color is meant to represent reassurance, confidence, and connection in a world trying to get back on its feet."

I love that color. It was my favorite color in my box of Crayola. It is not my best color to wear, but I can if I adjust my makeup.

I'm really particular about colors ... and occasionally Pantone comes up with one I like. Good - I'll be able to find yarn!

I do have pants and a couple of turtleneck shrits and sweaters in some of the darker shades in that picture.

I also have an LDO scarf from lots of years ago that has similar shades.

Vividly beautiful! I'm recalling a knit tunic with matching pants that I sewed way back in the seventies or eighties?

That's when I seemed to have more time to sew, along with work and everything else.

Now that I don't have much to do, the time flys/flies by. The word 'Flys' makes more sense, but it's incorrect.

Anyway, enjoy this color!

Here's an interesting article from the NYT ... personally, I love the color and, in fact, just bought a blazer for a dinner out during the holidays ... in a close cousin "fuchsia."

One of my fav colors. Just bought a corduroy fine gauge shirt from Loft in a bright magenta, looks great with black pants. Thanks for posting.

I had already committed myself to buying only absolute clothing necessities in 2023 and because my orange skin doesn't like any majentas, the Pantone decision will help me stick to using more of what I have already.
