I Can't Afford HSN!

HSN is having a DG2 show this afternoon. I need peddle pushers and they had one in an interesting color with free shipping. Went through the purchasing process and the total was $71.50! That's ridiculous for a simple pair of plain unembellished short pants. Then, I went through the cancellation process.

I'll find something on Amazon for twenty something dollars also with free shipping.

Generally, I agree. But, I'm rather hard to fit in pants, so I took a risk on some Marla Wynne straight leg pants, and they fit so well I didn't mind so much. Then, I was able to find them on sale for 1/2 the price, so I bought another pair in black. So, I'd say if you know a brand and style will fit, keeping an eye out for a sale might be worth it. However, I wouldn't trust that a completely different style would fit me so well.

It also helps that HSN sends out coupons on a regular basis, QVC doesn't.

@Icegoddess I probably have at least a dozen pairs of Gilman pants and each one fits differently. There's no consistency in the line.

Maybe HSN sends you coupons; I've never gotten one in over 30+ years. It's a sore subject.

@Kachina624 I saw a DG2 pair of shorts that were reversible, they were a print and solid for $66.50! They were trying to say you get two pairs of shorts for the price, they're insane!

I was going to buy a pair of TSV Capri pants like a month ago. By the time I checked out, they were over $50.00 for $39.99 Capri's. I agree with you, too $$.

I put items that I like but not the price in my "favorites" list. At least HSN notifies me if the price goes down. QVC does not do that.

I just got a good coupon from HSN: $15 off any purchase of $30 or more. It can be used on only one item, but can be used multiple times through May 14 I'm not sure, but am guessing that means only one item per order. I placed my first order with HSN last month and think that's why they sent the coupon.

I agree - my jaw dropped when I saw that price for Capris! Susan Graver is a little ridiculous also - Belle is getting up there - must think we are made of money! So sad!

I know it won't help much if you need them now but if you save them for later they will most likely be on clearance in a couple weeks! @Kachina624 ITA, the prices are really high for clothing on both networks depending on what brand it is. I've always had trouble with DG2 jeans with sizing inconsistancies, but I do own a couple of her stretchy jean jackets that I love, and 2 pairs of virtual stretch jeans from several years ago, got them on clearance too!

Sometimes it's a code just for you, other codes anyone can use.

I have gotten coupons from HSN for years. At least 2 coupons a month. Not sure how they decide who gets them.

I usually receive a 20 percent off "Birthday Card" every year from them too, good for my birthday month.

QVC has sent me 2 free gifts over the last few years:

Scrub Daddy products came out of nowhere with a note saying I was "special" and a David Venable sweatshirt arrived after I joined their Foodie Facebook page.

Last year around the holidays I received a "Holiday Card" with a picture of some of the hosts wishing me a Happy Holiday and thanking me for being a valued customer.

No coupons from them though.

I always "Favorite" things on HSN (click on the heart). Things go on sale frequently and their clearance prices blow QVC out of the water

I haven't shopped on HSN in years. I guess their prices are getting high just like about everyone else's. Try Belk, Bealls, Kohls, Marshalls, Penneys. I often find good deals on these places.

The way QVC is always comparing their stuff to boutiques I think they think they are the Neiman Marcus of home shopping.

I think the price of cotton, polyester (from petroleum) and manufacturing and shipping it over here from China has all gone higher. Inflation. I personally do not fit into DG pants because the rise is wrong for my body so I don't pay much attention to her clothing. I don't like her designs anymore either. HSN has her on so often that it feels like they are having her mass produce more and more things. All that is changed are the ruffles or the lace or the fabric colors. On HSN, I am noticing that Colleens line, Iman's line, and DG's line seem to be oddly similar. G by Guiliana seems to be a more extreme fashion forward version of all of them combined. If you look at the models, one can see how poorly made the fabrics are. Notice how they don't turn around and show the fit of the back side any more. I get it that inflation is eating everyone's lunch but I used to love HSN clothing. Even Antthony's stuff seems cheaper and less classic. I guess styles change!

@Kachina624 $71.50 is not agreeable for most of us to pay for a pair of everyday peddle pushers. I was looking for a cute pair of capri pants & a nice top to wear to a casual outdoor birthday party coming up. Like you I found a nice style from DG2 but the price seemed unreasonable. I opted to go online to Macy's & got pants on sale plus a top for the DG2 price of just the pants.

Gary Given recently said the price of denim has gone sky-high. I think he wasn't kidding. D&C has been pushing twill and French Terry pants, no denim crops or capris.
