I bought one directly off an Irish website for around $90 - is Q selling them again?

Never like the styles they choose to feature.

@Group 5 minus 1 They are quality items and so, to me, are worth the money, including having them dry cleaned.

I own quite a few, some probably from 12 years ago. They are very well made and keep me warm. They can also transition seasonally from autumn to winter, winter to spring so I ddefinitely get my original expense many times over.

I have several Irish sweaters. I have had them for years, often wear them in place of a jacket in the cooler weather. I love these sweaters.

@Group 5 minus 1 I find quality in the knitting itself, how they are stitched together, their durability, and in the wool used, which is sometimes merino wool. I appreciate the craftsmanship, attention to detail and the diversity of stitches and styles, as well as the wide array of colors offered.

I buy them for DD who is always cold. She wears them from fall into spring and they keep her toasty warm. Nothing like an Irish wool sweater, especially a fisherman's knit pullover. I purchase from different sites including QVC.

Years back During the winter season I purchased a few from Marshall's for $50. Same brand the Q sells. Don't know if they still carry them.

I wish they weren't made of wool. I knit a lot with acrylic and would like to see this type of sweater in that material or in some sort of blend. Do not want the upkeep, i.e,, cost of dry cleaning or spend that much money on a sweater.

I bought one or two a long time ago and simply cannot wear something this scratchy and itchy. I hated them.

@SharkE good one, LOL! At least with the Aran sweaters you're getting real Merino wool not polyester, made in Ireland, not China!! It's a win win

I know not everyone can wear wool. I have sensitive skin but I can wear these sweaters no problem. I wear them as a jacket many times in the New England winters and they're great. Of course not much touches the skin, I generally have a turtleneck or something under it in the middle of winter. Still no issues as I wear wool scarves that match!

The Irish, 100 % merino wool sweaters are cheaper than many Barefoot Dreams and Side Stitch items which are manufactured from artificial fabrics for the most part.

You can't compare these wool Irish sweaters to BFD. It's like comparing apples to oranges!

I have had these sweaters since they started selling on QVC. Mine have outlasted any coat I have had. They are not itchy as they are made with Merino wool. During the Winter I wear them as a coat if it's not in the freezing temps. There is no acrylic sweater that would out last or be as good quality as these Irish sweaters.

There are many people who can afford them.

Good quality sweaters like this are an investment piece, like a good handbag.

Yes, you pay ....but if wanted, you will have this item for a lifetime.

You always think QVC should only sell Walmart priced items.

There are other places to shop and lesser priced items here. QVC can sell anything they want at all sorts of prices. If you don't want to spend it, you sure don't have to, but I don't expect QVC to offer ONLY what fits my style and budget.

I get really great prices with the LTS.

We all purchase and spend what we please.

Everyone is different, and everyone has different clothing budgets. I respect that.

The older I got, the more I appreciated spending a bit more for “investment” clothing. Things that are classic, well made, and will not go out of style. If you live in a cooler climate, an Irish sweater fits the bill.

I always wear a turtleneck or blouse under these sweaters, and mine aren’t worn at times they could get dirty. I air them out at the end of the season anyway, and then wrap them in plastic bags to avoid moths. Like any other wool sweater, jacket, or coat.
