Hi Everyone!

It's cold and just a few snow flurries. Ice has formed on the rugs and grass so I could do without that part. It's just nice to wear a sweater and not be sweating. LOL

I did watch a bit of the jewelry day but not much. I thought Jane looked really pretty last night with different makeup. I'm sticking to not buying any item that is on the delcutter list or at least that's the plan that is working for me right now. Since groceries and utilities have all increased the $ have to break even from somewhere.

I actually forgot that I have a few returns that I need to handle. I was so flustered with birthdays and Christmas gifts that it slipped my mind that I had a pile of returns because of size. (half are Kohls and half QVC). That's tomorrow's project. Today it's the floors. I sure can have fun around here.

My grandsom gave me a QVC e gift card for Christmas. I finally got on the "chat" and I will have to call another number to use the ecard. It will not print out the entire card and will not recognize my email...although they sent me the notice that a card was purchased. I never have luck with e-cards. Still, I know he's waitng to hear what I purchased with it so I found a log rack for the fireplace. I have that on my list for tomorrow. Hope the sale price is still in effect.

Our DIL's father did well with his procedures and tests. One more review and they should have some answers. Our son is having some relief to his health issues so at least it's improvement. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

My prayers are with Declin, Jean, Bev and Barb and all others who are dealing with health issues.

Fressa, I thought it was going to be so cold this morning so I wore my faux suede pants & a fleece sherpa lined coat, but without a breeze it was a perfect sunny winter day. We might get a couple of inches of snow in the next couple of days. I love snow. It's a million times better than any summer day. Anything above 60° is too hot for me. I would love to go from April to September. I watched a bit of the jewelry shows, but I need nothing. I was very lucky that I had no Christmas returns. The 3 dgc are easy to find clothes for. I have never had an ecard & would have no idea what to do with it. I am glad that your dil's dad did well with his procedure. Thanks for your prayers and kind words. It's gut wrenching for those involved.

Our eldest dgs is 21 years old today. He was the best baby. He would sit in the recliner with me & all he wanted me to do was read to him. Then it was Thomas the Train. Now he is a Jr in college looking for an internship for this summer.

Our electrical bill will be higher next month as they changed the billing cycle date. Then I hope that it goes back to the normal charges. We got the bill for the furnace cleaning and it was under a $100, so we were happy. He's a nice guy & we know he did a good job.

We had a good grocery shopping day. The only thing I didn't find was the buttery shortening. I was lucky to get a big can of the white shortening. It lasts a long time as I usually use spray oil. I was glad to see strawberries for $1.99 a qt., raspberries, bananas and apples were cheap this week. They were all expensive last week.

We just got back from the gym. There were only 4 of us there which is a plus.

Dinner is the yummy leftover penne chicken casserole from Tuesday night.

P.S. Barbara, I am so glad that you & your dh are having better days. Hospice was a Godsend for me when my mom went into an assisted living place. She got great care & my dh and I could take care of ourselves.

Fressa @Fressa thanks for starting us off today. I didn't even realize yesterday was jewelry day, which was probably a good thing, lol. I don't envy you having to deal with returns. I hope you get the fireplace accessory at a good price. Thanks for sharing the good news about your son and his FIL.

Hey Glenda @twinny70 Aside from praying directly for Decla, I'm also praying for his parents. I can't imagine the torment they are going through at this time. Happy birthday to your eldest grandson, 21 is quite the milestone.

fressa..I am from the land of 10000 lakes and snow, lots of it, and very cold weather are normal. That is why we are in Az for most of the year.

Glenda..congrats on having a 21 year old dgs. Our oldest is 16 and the youngest of the 6 is 8 spread among my 3 children.

Birdmama, thanks for the eating advice..I do better at nibbling than eating a meal. I have Boost but do not like the flavor. I will try the soy milk. I do not eat junk food except for an occasional foo foo drink from Starbucks.

we had another good day. Some friends came over and we played a few hands of bridge.

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Fressa. Hope the returns go smoothly, and you are able to get and use the ecard. Sometimes they can be difficult to use. Glad to hear your DIL's Dad's procedures and tests went well, and your son is feeling better.

I didn't watch any of the jewelry shows yesterday, but I didn't see anything in the product review that triggered an order -- thank goodness. I am better restraining jewelry purchases than I am with clothes or shoes.

Congratulations to your DGS, Glenda. Nice that he was such a good baby. My grandsons loved Thomas the Tank, and I remember spending quite a bit on train sets, etc. as well as watching videos and reading to them. I enjoyed the stories as well.

Your grocery shopping went better than mine, at least in the price department. Most of the items I purchased were more expensive than usual. Interesting about the spray oil. I have been trying to find the store brand for nearly a month -- Walmart and the grocery store -- but they only have the name brand. The price difference is at least $2.00 per can, so I keep trying to find the "generic". I am beginning to think they have discontinued store brands of some items. I didn't need any pasta, but the pasta shelf was nearly bare, as was the area where they have cream, half and half, etc. Spotty in some other parts of the store. The other grocery store was better, but lacked a couple of items I wanted. Oh well....

I continue to pray for Declan and his parents.

Hi Bernie and Barbara. Glad things are going better for you and your DH, Barbara.

Bev is in a more or less "holding pattern" in the hospital. She didn't see the surgeon today, and the regular doctor said she would need to talk to him. So, she might or might not have surgery tomorrow afternoon, and she is not sure what type of surgery she will have. Fortunately, she trusts the doctor.

Funny story about your cooking the chicken, Bernie. When I first got married to my ex, I didn't know much about cooking. So, I purchased Julia Child's cookbook. Back in those days, they didn't sell much boneless, skinless chicken. So, I followed her steps to debone and skin a chicken -- at least the breast part. I wasn't crying, but I was grossed out by the process.

P.S. I forgot to mention that my sister-in-law was fired from her new job yesterday. She had only been there for 2 1/2 weeks, but they said she was too slow (I think it involved a computer database). Anyway, she is feeling pretty low, and asked for prayers.
