Those look like prairie style dresses to me. I knew they were trending ...read about it last year...but I won't be buying.

My old '70s Gunne Sax dresses were much prettier than those. I wish I still had them. I see they sell for a lot of money these days.

Is this in the costume section? I think prairie dresses can be really cute but these are pretty shapeless and sad looking.

@SilleeMee I sold the ones I had and made good money though part of me wishes I had kept them.

Well, some of the younger women may wear them and manage to make them look retro and cool. I never liked them in 1970s because they were too much fabric everywhere. What I did have a collection of was the Sizzler dresses with matching bikini undergarment. Mind you I am 5'11" and alllllll leg and my dad would always comment, "You going out like that? It's a shirt, where's the bottom?" I would tell him they are under the dress!!! He would just shake his head.

About 15 years ago, I stayed with a friend who lived in Kingman, AZ when I was moving from WA to Tucson & waiting for my house to close down here. We'd go shopping at Walmart & some of the FLDS women & girls from Colorado City, AZ would come down to shop in Kingman & they wore outfits that looked more like the ones at Target than these. Really drab looking dresses, not pastel like these.

@aubnwa01: About 7 years ago DH and I were at a Kmart in Glendale,AZ. We had just gotten into are car when about 5 women from the FLDS church walked into the store. My jaw dropped as I have never in my life seen them before. But you are right they did have dresses on that look like the ones Target is selling.

Look at all the know-how in there!

Look at the collar, the shoulder, cuff, waistline, ruffled hem. Probably buttons in the back, too.

It's like a 7th grade home-ec final exam dress.
