What's the Point?

Lately, when presenting fashions, there is one piece on set and then to show other colors available they go to .com. Also, there are fewer live models, instead showing videos of the piece being modeled. What's the point of live programming? I can watch .com on my own.

I stopped watching a few months ago. No more temptation. No more buying things I don't really need. I agree that it was so much better with two or three live models of different sized and heights.

I wonder if this is the way it will continue - with the vendors being off site. I wonder if this is about "safety" or saving money.

Then it makes it even more frustrating when the one they show is black ...you can't see a dang thing in the details when that happens. There are certain hosts who always wear the black options and you can't see the details there either.

I'm just glad that they aren't cutting costs here, at the forums.

Also, they probably cannot ship every single color to the vendors' homes, therefore they are showing the rest of the colors online.

Seems that, for the most part, and more or less, most of the colors are shown on air when presented at the Q studio.

I agree. In addition, they often use the fashion presentations from QVC 2 (1 color sample & no models) for the clothing videos. As you said, why bother? QVC should only use videos for clothing items from the main QVC channel that have live models and show all the colors in person and not on a computer screen..

@Justshop @Review 2 @SilleeMee I so agree with you! I made a suggestion for QVC to have the models back wearing the various colors as they used to do.

@Justshop I don't understand the point either. Why present an apparel item on TV and show the various colors with pictures from the website?? That presentation of color is another step further away from being able to see the actual color. I can see the colors on my computer myself that would illustrate them.

I rarely watch QVC. But when I see something new online that I might be interested in, I only watch any presentations to see a better view of what the item looks like, fits like, and what the colors are like. Sticking up photos of the website defeats the purpose in watching the televised presentation.

@Justshop The point is, it's a low-budget operation.

@Justshop @I can't stand this dot com thing either, but I think it is happening because of delays in getting samples to the studio due to pandemic related slowing. I don't think QVC does this because they want to. The fewer live models is to cut down on persons working on set because of COVID. I wish the camerapersons would zoom in on these models. They are shot from so far away that whatever they are wearing is not well displayed.

@Justshop I thought that was just on Q2. Now on QVC, too?

I think it was a financial decision. Costs QVC money to have so many garments "out" being worn or handled.

My thinking is that any clothes on the set or on the models have to be sold "as is."

If you have one of each color on the rack, and then what the host changes into, and three models ..... that's a lot of clothes that can't be sold for full price.

Multiply that by how many fashion programs.
