Why are the neck holes on the tops always big? They hang when washed also look sooo sloppy! I would like a simple round neck!

@Docsgal I'm not there's a simple answer. Even w/ my broad shoulders, avoiding boat neck tops, I still sometimes find crew necks have a larger opening.

I try to be careful when choosing fabrics that won't stretch or have a larger neck when purchased. I fold everythinng instead of hanging, too.

When that happens to me it's a sign that the tops are too large for me. I realize that the type of neck opening makes a difference, too, but usually when the neck opening hangs unappealingly on me then the top is too big.

I had two D&Co tops that the ribbing around the neck didn't make it though one laundering! No more D&Co knit tops for me!

So many other places to buy knit tops ....

@Docsgal ..I am finding that to be true. I just dropped off 2 pull over tops to be altered. Sometimes I think it is all the stretch in tops. I have become very conscious of the neck when I buy.

@SilleeMee I also agree with you...I have always purchased based on my bust measurement but once all the stretch was put into tops, I noticed the problem.

Have you tried the crew neck tees from Kohl's Croft & Barrow brand? The necklines stay true for me after multiple wearing & washings.

I see lots of tops of Issac line that I would buy but............those big necklines are a big no for me. That's what he likes best.

Lori says crew style for her but...........big no to the rest of her products.for me.

I agree! And not just after they've been washed. It seems like "crewneck" has become more like either a scoop neck or a boat neck and is no longer that neat, round neckline that fit nicely around the base of your neck.

I've been noticing a YouTuber (Gemma from Pampered Wolf) and she seems to have a lot of tops with that neatly-fitting crewneck. Maybe it's just that in the UK they pay more attention to those details? I don't know but a lot of the tops I've seen lately here just look sloppy with those too-large neck openings.

I've found LLBean pima cotton crew short sleeve and long sleeve tees have a great crew neck that stays that way wash after wash. They are expensive but well worth it.

Your shoulders may be shorter from the edge to the neck, or your tops are too large.

Isaac's necklines work for me. I have trouble with most of Kim Gravel's tops with round necks too open and v necks too low. I've passed on many of her tops that I would have otherwise bought for this reason.

I've been conscious of the necklines on Kim Gravel's tops as of late. I've received a few that I "had" to wear a cami type bra because the neckline came down too far. I realize that if she had petite size tops this probably wouldn't happen. They're not just too long, overall they're too big. Ugh, no more.

Other than the neckline - the shirt was fine. What I did do is remove the neck binding and add a crocheted edge and eventually donated the shirt to Goodwill.

I've noticed that on Kim Gravel's tops, purchased (3) of her blouses, the necklines were droopy, hung low, looked too sloppy, had to return.
