Swimsuits

Glad I am not a model. Swimsuit or bras I would not be comfortable showing on me. I never have liked showing off in a swim suit for some reason. I think because I am small and on thinner side but too busty.

I do have them but pretty picky on the style.

In purchasing swimsuits , I look at the quality of the fabric and how is it cut . Some suits are made of sheer fabric or the fabric is so taught it does not stretch or the pants are cut skimpy in the buttock area . So, for me I prefer to shop in a brick/mortar store . I do appreciate that QVC did have models wearing the suits and even the Host Terri Conn . Thought abt ordering, however did not want to pay postage a couple of times just to try to get a good fit. I bought a new swimsuit elsewhere.

I recently got 2 swimsuits...one at Belk and one through Amazon...both are Fit4U.

This year's offerings with QVC were quite limited compared to previous years. I haven't bought bathing suits for several years, so it was time. After losing a ton of weight, the ones I had went to Goodwill.

One style I bought the Q had, but I still had to get it at Belk (paid $88) because QVC only offered it in 3 sizes...odd. I guess the rest of the shipment just never arrived. When I zoomed in on the 'seaglass' pattern, I HAD to have this swimdress! It is a stunner:

The other bathing suit I got was through Amazon at a fabulous price of under $40. My preference for swimsuits are wrap swim dresses or something similar. I tried one of the offerings QVC had for a wrap dress by Fit 4 U, but the sizing/fit was off. That is when I did a search online for another one in hopes it would fit better and it did! It's called:

There is a good image of it at the SwimOutlet...glad I didn't have to pay $110!

I think finding bathing suits one feels comfortable wearing is tougher than other garments. I feel very fortunate that I knew the style that works best for me and went with it...not bothering trying other styles. I'm very happy with the two I purchased

@Roscoe the Rascal I don't have a perfect figure, I don't show off, and that being said, I'm not going to let that spoil a day at the beach or in the pool. Life is too short, I don't make a living by how I look, and I'll be decently clad I can assure you!

I don't think people will be looking on me to be critical and if they are, everybody needs a hobby and that's their problem not mine!

I am fine with who I am, and I like to have fun in the water! The young hotties aren't going to be focusing attention on me, neither are the grandparents or parents, so who'se left?

True. I do have them and I just don't get many chances to wear any.

I like Lands End suits, both for their styles and their warranty, but they can be pricey unless you get them on sale. I've also gotten some nice suits from Amazon for less than $40. My most recent one is a jungle print that really looks good, if I do say so myself. I try to remember to bring the Amazon suits when I know I'll be getting into hot tubs where there's extra chlorine and chemicals. At that price, I don't mind if they don't last as long as my more expensive suits. I have enough bathing suits to stock a small boutique, mainly because I pick them up when they're on sale. I prefer one-piece suits, but also have a few tankinis.

The year I retired was the summer of triple digit temps and I spent as many days as possible at our community pool. I made a lot of good friends that summer and we've continued to meet at the pool everyday, weather permitting (even last summer). As you can imagine, all that chlorine takes a toll on your bathing suit, thus the bathing suit wardrobe. Most summer days, I'm in the water for a few hours. My bathing beauty days are long gone. I can barely remember the last time I wore a bikini, but I enjoy the time I spend with my friends at the pool. We are in our 60's and 70's (with a couple of 80's thrown into the mix). We mount our pool noodles and "swim" in the deep end, chatting and laughing at each other's jokes. The last thing we worry about is whether anyone else at the pool approves of the way we look in our bathing suits. We think we look pretty good for our ages. I wouldn't feel comfortable modeling a bathing suit, but I have absolutely no qualms donning my suit for fun in the sun. At this stage of my life, I've earned it!

i purchased a swim suit from A last year... good style, but the bottoms were so loose I couldn't be seen in public!

So, went out and purchased bottoms (shorts) to wear over... might as well have just bought one suit!
