Done With L L Bean!

I ordered several slippers to try on since I am on my feet all day. Dearfoams, Isotoners, and similar lose their comfort after about a week and a half. The padding flattens out. I feel the floor.

The L L Bean slippers felt the best. I added for a sock. The slipper came and It was big enough I tripped over it. They won't exchange without return postage., which I will do, however, they just lost a customer.

@ECBG Tempur Pedic has great slippers and don't go flat. Lots of styles at Zappo with free shipping. I wear mine without socks as I do with my LLBean ones. Unless you are wearing a very sock sizing up is iffy and wouldn't work in the summer.

Are you near an LL Bean store or outlet? They will accept .com returns. I'm about 25 miles from a store, so I'd have to think about which way of returning is less expensive - mailing or round-trip driving.

Many thanks. I'm in the Appalachian mountains of NC. The mountains yawn a long time before the give way to summer.

We have had 40 degree mornings and maybe 10 degrees higher in the heat of the afternoon.

Looking for softness that doesn't compress in 1 1/2 weeks.

I love the Acorn thong style spa slippers. They are machine washable and the memory foam lasts forever. Acorn also has difference styles. I purchase them on Amazon and just ordered another pair for $28 instead of $38 -- only color on sale was pink.

I know it won't help in this instance but, if you have their credit card, you get free shipping, free returns and other benefits.

I'm wearing a pair of Bean's Wicked Good moccasin slippers right now. They must be at least seven years old and you'd never know it. Absolutely no wear on the soles at all and I've walked around in my yard with them.

I've lost money on returns with other companies, including the Q, but if it's a good company, I wouldn't write it off for that. JMO.

I used to love Acorn thong spa slippers. They are no longer the same. I bought 2 pairs from Amazon right before Christmas. I wore one pair around the house, never outside. The strap between the toes broke within a week.

I tossed that pair and returned the other pair because I didn't want to lose more money when they broke.

After looking at reviews I saw others had the same problem. Acorn is no longer lasting.

Nordstrom no longer carries the Acorn thong spa slippers.

I don't know what's happening to ladies slippers. I've worn them forever.

I have purchased Acorn, Dearfoam and Isotoner. The Acorn between the toe part broke quickly, Dearfoam would not stay on my feet and Isotoner went flat within an hour.

I give up!!!!

@ECBG Sorry your slippers didn't work out.Know you've been been looking for ones with some support/padding for awhile. LL Bean usually charges for shipping (unless over a certain $ amount) and returns, too. I always check that on a site before ordering.

@ECBG .... I ordered a jacket from LL Bean a while ago. The fit was horrible so I returned it. The return shipment fee was outrageous. As a result I will never order anything from them again.

Sorry to hear these bad experiences with LL Bean. I love that company. I also have their credit card which @Venezia said you get free shipping, free returns and free monogramming if you want it. Plus you get credits (bean bucks) for everything you purchase with the card and special discounts. I have been wearing their slippers since I was in my 20's. They can last 10 years at times.

Companies brag about that foam in shoes, slippers, mattress toppers, dog beds, etc. but I avoid it because it does collapse over time.

Do you have an LL Bean store in your area that would accept the change? I think many retailers now require the customer to pay postage for exchanged. I think it used to be free.

pretty much wont wear any slipper now EXCEPT for vionics.....very sturdy, lots of support, and comfortable!

@ECBG , get on the phone and ask for a supervisor. I exchanged a pair of shoes for my husband and they sent me a label. No charge, whatsoever...

All shipping used to be free (now there's a minimum), but I don't think returns were. I, too, have their credit card so that I get free shipping and returns. I only use it on those fairly rare occasions I order from LL Bean.

I just called and ashed. CS wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor but said if I sized according to their guidelines, the packer wouldn't charge postage.
