Styling makes a difference to me

I was watching a rerun of The Szish List with Katrina Szish the other day and saw this pretty blouse A383215:

I thought that was a great look with jeans, and I can also dress up the blouse with black pants. When i went to dot com to get more information, the pictures were

These pictures do nothing for that blouse. I would not have looked at the blouse twice. Because of the TV presentation, the blouse is on my wish list...

I love Deanna! She always looks great. I am sure she didn't pick the pictures or to oversize the blouse!

@NYCLatinaMe I saw this presented and I thought all colors were lovely. I’m going to kick myself for saying this, but I thought the print was more “elevated” than a lot of QVC choices, LOL.

I agree completely! The Q styling often leaves much to be desired. I purchased a Louis Dell'Olio blouse only after seeing how Jen styled it because the models were completely drab and uninspired

I much prefer the lighter color blouse. Colors can make a difference and with this blouse for me, they do!!!!

But what would you have thought about the fit of the top from the still picture on the website? That picture to me looks like poor manufacturing. I wouldn't buy. My point was not about the color, but how the blouse looks on the model.

Do the models style the pieces themselves? I assumed they're "styled" behind the scenes before they come out. Sometimes the models could do a better job left to do it themselves.

@Shanus I have heard them refer to the on air stylists.

I would guess they have different people style for the photoshoots, as these are different jobs in the fashion world (photography vs. live air). But I don't know how QVC does it. You would think the person taking the stills would try to show the fashions at their best and most clearly, since most people I would venture to guess won't watch the video.

I know if I had seen just the still picture, my eyes would have quickly moved to the next item.

Lighting makes a huge difference as well - look how much more vibrant the colors appear in the first photo.

Hi, @NYCLatinaMe ! I agree styling makes a huge difference. In the pictures from the website, I have no feel for the design of the blouse with it tied at the waist or half-tucked. The pictures on the website leave a lot to be desired. Of the detail short are of the black color of the garment where no detail can be seen; I often bypass items simply because the lead photo is unattractive.

Styling does make a massive difference, which is the reasons mannequins and outfits on dressing room doors are done.

Some people can't put things together cold, and pull all the elements together, but they do like what they see and enjoy wearing it.

Totally agree that styling makes a difference. This is why I do not like it when people sometimes label entire brands of clothing in a negative light. How an item looks also depends on how you wear the pieces and put together outfits.
