Where, What and Who?

For fun: Where would you like to go on a day trip? What would you wear? Who would you take with you?

Where: I would take a day trip to Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore House.

What: I have a new cardigan from C and Banks, a shirt, jeans, and my Skechers leopard booties.

Who: My husband! If he isn't available- George Strait! Just kidding Honey!

I'd love to go to a big antique show that had the heavy primitives, old oak buckets, beautiful old handmade baskets and such. Items before 1920's.

I'd wear Fly London boots, (they're like walking on marshmallows), jeans, a thick turtle neck, and a leather moto jacket with scarf since they're so cold with the high ceilings.

I need to be in the upper northern states.

I'm heading to the beach and wearing my shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. I'll be in my lounger chair by the pool and walk the beach a few times while I'm there. This will be a girl's trip so I'll be taking along my girlfriends.

They're after me to be in the lobby of the newer hotel. I don't have to work, and as you probably noticed, color and design are my "things". I have too much fun as a stylist.

I am fortunate to have always been able to do what I loved.

That would be a fun job- working on the grounds of the Biltmore estate. I want to go for the Spring flower festival sometime .

For a fleeting moment I mentioned to my husband "let' s go to Grand View Lodge for the weekend". It's a little over 2 hours from home. Then reality set in. We are in the middle of a deadly pandemic, it's winter and we are expecting snow this weekend. I think I just had this sudden urge to get out of town.

No doubt woolies and a down jacket would be the outfit of the day.

If you do come, be sure to check out "2 On Crescent" in Biltmore Village. She discounts Eileen Fisher! Mona is a wonderful person and used to loan me items when my students did displays in competition.

I'll stick with your Asheville theme. My parents met & married in Asheville and their first child was born in the city. Dad worked at Biltmore Dairy after WW2. Nature all around and artsy downtown district would be my stops. Oh, and I'd have to drive by my grandparents' homes - even though they've been gone for years. Near Robbinsville, NC and near Saluda, NC.

First of all, I love those leopard Skechers booties. I have those booties in blue. They're as comfortable as bedroom slippers with ice-gripping soles.

We traveled a lot before all this covid stuff, and we have cabin fever something awful. Sometimes we took day trips to various casinos an hour or so away in all directions. I'd be happy to just get away to a casino resort to (ahem) gamble, eat a big juicy steak, and shop in the gift shop. I'd just like to get farther away from home than the neighborhood supermarket parking lot.

I'd wear my 'dressy' jeans, a sweater, and my Skechers booties. In my fantasy, I wouldn't have to wear a mask.

This is a resort located on the shore of Gull Lake in Nisswa Minnesota a couple hours from the Twin Cities. It is quite large with two golf courses, many individual cabins for rent, a boutique hotel (in addition to the main Lodge in the picture I posted), a spa and several restaurants on site.

I hope to spend some time here this summer after we have been vaccinated and are feeling more comfortable traveling.

Note: Those steps always remind me of Baby dancing down the stairs in Dirty Dancing.
