JEAN JACKETS IN COLORS?

Over the years, I've noticed jean jackets in colors...pastels, brights, etc. I always believed that jean jackets looked better in their original shades of denim. There was a jean jacket on AM STYLE this morning in mauve...iffy.

Thoughts?

I prefer the real blue jean colors for jackets, but always have liked white ones for the summer.

I don't plan on buying or owning any jean jackets in the future. I donated almost all of my jackets, including the jean jackets I had because I don't wear jackets anymore.

I still have a closet full of them, but was just thinking the other day, that they need to go too. When I worked, I wore them all of the time. I just don't do a layered wardrobe anymore.

Although I haven't seen the one that was presented, I like denim jackets in various colors. If I wear a denim blue jacket, I won't wear blue jeans. It looks like jean overload to me, but if others like it, go for it.

Years ago when D&C was good quality for a fair price the had corduroy jean jackets with a bit of stretch in colors that I bought and really liked. I bought a couple and wore the heck out of them. I also had Colored Denim for spring in addition to traditional blue denim ones.

I also have a closet full of denim jackets and they all are various shades of blue ( most have some enhancements), black or white. That's what I'm comfortable with.

I had one years ago that was purchased from QVC with a USA flag on the front pocket. It was donated after it became too big from weight loss. Although I would love to have another, the weather in south Florida is just too warm to wear one.

I have friends that feel the same way. Personally I love to stray from the classic = all shades , fabrics , and just a little longer ones . A little bit of stretch to me was the fashion gods gift to womenkind. I like the basic designs with innovations.

I tried head to toe denim and felt as though observers may tend to think I escaped from a prison crew . Some can pull it off nicely though.

@Carmie I do have a white jacket, but do consider white a jean color. I wear my white jeans all 4 seasons. I still wear my denim colored jackets...keep one in the car in warmer months just in case I find myself in an over air conditioned area. They do go with anything. Layering for me is just over one layer...a tee or sweater. If I need more than that, it's time for a coat.

@Shanus, I agree with you. I have, over the years, bought a couple of colors other than some shade of denim, but found I really didn't wear them much at all. I now have my jean jackets narrowed down to just a few, all in denim shades.

Mine are two in white, one in dark indigo and one in medium blue (embellished).

I have lots of colored jackets - but they aren't denim.

I have denim jackets in different shades of blue - and a white one. I'm not opposed to getting one in a different color.

I still have my colorful lightweight ones (mint green, light turquoise, ivory, light blue) from Coldwater Creek. Love them!

A Jean Jacket has morphed into a style now. So colors work. Many are lighter weight too.

I have only one. It is dark denim, and really cute. But honestly I never wear it. The fabric is so heavy and stiff, it just seems uncomfortable!

If I washed and wore it more I'm sure it would help....maybe I will pull it out and try it again.

I do like denim jackets in colors and prints. Love the shape of a denim jacket.

I have a vintage Liz Claiborne denim style jacket in sunny yellow linen.

I've never been into jean jackets. Probably because I don't like the denim on denim look. I didn't think they were comfortable, back in the 70s, but they have improved with a touch of spandex. I also thought the buttons were difficult and especially when it was cold!

I own one denim jacket and it's olive Green and sports a zipper! LOL

I donated a few Coldwater Creek Denim embellished jackets that were beautiful. I always got a ton of compliments on them. They were just sitting in my closet collecting dust. At one time 90% of my clothing was from CWC. I had a ton of those reversible skirts.
