@maximillian. Its the rather innovative fabric from which the garment is made. Undoubtedly expensive due to the process which makes it so soft and drapey.

Prices have risen. I suggest you check around at some vendors like Dillards and Nordstrom that offer a similar product as that one.

I agree........and i am sure i heard the vendor say that the shirt is made from recycled cotton..........that itself would

make me think twice.......

My definition of Price gouging ~ overcharging for an item when an alternative is not available. The key being "when an alternative is not available."

Certainly there are many options for clothing purchases.

Not recycled cotton as in recycled clothing.

Cupro is a regenerated cellulose fabric that is made from recycled cotton linter, the fluffy fiber around the plant's seeds. ... Given its cellulose origin and production process, it's part of the same family of fabrics as Tencel, rayon, Modal and Lyocell.

Price gouging occurs when a seller increases the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. Usually, this event occurs after a demand or supply shock.

Price gouging is when Starbucks wanted to charge me 2.19 for 16oz bottle of water. It was an easy pass.

If anything, one could say Side Stitch is overpriced. And if one thought that then one could pass on Side Stitch.

If you are interested in Side Stitch, just wait for a price cut on as is. It would still be $80.00 or so, but that's what I did when I wanted to try the tops. I mght even consider another one next spring.

Don't think price gouging applies to nonessential items. If is voluntary, they can set the price.

Or check out EBay, where I bought a brand new Side Stitch tencera tunic for 29.99 a few months ago. The fabric is soooo soft.
