Letting Go Bazaar Magazine!

I always looked forward to looking at the pages of my fashion magazines, especially the big September issue which showed me beautiful color combinations as well as jewelry, clothing, and shoes!

I got the September issue and it was 90% about people in the news which attacks us daily! No new color or design!

I emailed them and stopped my subscription of 30 years!

Any fashion subscriptions you have stopped?

@ECBGI stopped Bazaar when it became Bizarre, years and years ago.

I cut back years ago on fashion magazines. Junk articles and mostly ads.

I do subscribe to knit and crochet “fashion” magsI Two of my favorites no longer print English language versions. Another went completely digital. I cancelled two others. Just one mag left: Vogue Knitting. Others I occasionally pick up an issue when I’m in Barnes & Noble.

Geat minds @Sooner I subscribed for 20 some years to Vanity Fair and stopped a couple ofyears ago too. No longer enjoyed the contents.

Stopped Bazaar and Vogue years ago. Too many articles about things I do not care to read. They started to have a political slant, instead of focusing on fashion.

I have been buying magazines since I was a young girl. Of course over the years my choice in magazines has changed and now I stick to mostly those which center around home designs and styles, decor, furnishings.

I still enjoy receiving magazines in the mail as I do buying books. I pass on the magazines to my niece who loves to read them in her quiet time. It's relaxing and fun and I will continue to support them. So far they contain the same themes and subjects they always have.

I loved my fashion magazines to much. In recent years, they would introduce a new aspect I hadn't run across on youtube.

Probably, with home furnishing topics you're safe. It seems the fashion publications have tanked.

I never liked "In Style" because of all the pages spent on ball and award gowns which were easy to find on the net.

I got Glamour and Seventeen as a teen and kept Glamour until long after I was married. I added Cosmopolitan and Vogue in college. I read all of them cover to cover. I am so disappointed to see what they became. I cancelled my subscription to McCall's when Rosie O'Donnell turned it into Rosie's and ruined it IMO.

I used to love to curl up with my magazines. Now I still subscribe to a few food and decorating magazines. If they get political I will leave them.

Yes, I agree about the magazines I read being safe from controversy! I am sorry the fashion magazines aren't doing well I guess they feel the need to broaden their subject matter to attract new subscribers. However,, if something has appealed to people for a long time, why change I fear magazines are in danger of going out of business, at least some. I will continue my subscriptions and newspaper deliveries!!!!

Agreed on Vanity Fair. If I hadn't received it for free (via the reward survey site) I'd have unsubscribed due to the last few issues. It's become insufferable.

I used to faithfully get this magazine. I hadn't read it in a long time and recently got a fantastic offer for a subscription so I bit! A couple months ago, I got my first issue. I won't go into detail because it would definitely get me into dutch but what a disappointment! And --- it is nothing like it used to be! If I want to get bombarded with this type of stuff I will just turn on the news! Plus, the 2 issues I've gotten are so thin. I realize that magazines are really on the decline and suffering, but seriously if they want people to keep buying, they need to try harder to satisfy those of us who still want and buy them!

I stopped a few fashion magazines. There is so much advertisement in magazines today. However, I just subscribed to Martha Stewart Living for one year.

@AngelPuppy1 Yes, I agree with you! Vanity Fair fell long and hard. There used to be a lot of articles of interest to a wide range of people.

What I got rid of in addition:

Pioneer Woman--nothing but ads and family album
All America's Test Kitchen Magazines and Web--enough of that in my lifetime, no longer need.
AllRecipes
Better Homes and Gardens--never liked and never ordered but somehow got!
Bazaar

What I keep and love:

Southern Living--although it is not what it used to be
Martha Stewart Living--love and look forward to it!
Southern Homes--CRAZY about that Magazine
Southern Lady
Victoria--that one won't be renewed
Tea Time--I'm about to give up on that as well
Veranda
Traditional Home

Fashion Magazine were replaced by Fashion Blogs years ago. I subscribe to a few of them. My favorite one is by Brooklyn Blonde. They are much more up to date.

The world has moved on. I can still see my mom under the big dryer hood reading them at the hairdressers. They used to peddle a perfect little lady image.

None of the younger folks go near them. The last paper magazine I had was The Economist a few years ago. Lots online to see.

@Still Raining Which is why a lot of the younger folks don't know much except social media and a few "hacks." And what celebrities are doing.
