What are the most upscale clothing lines on the Q?

I've been told all the upscale brands on QVC (Dooney, Dennis Basso, NYDJ, etc) are all made for QVC sales and are not the same as what you would purchase at retail. I had a salesperson at Macy's tell me that the Dooney bags and NYDJ jeans sold on QVC are not made the same as the ones sold in their store. Even my high end consignment store will not take HSN or QVC "brand name" items.

@simplyfriends Re: Dooney, I've heard the hosts and vendors say that a certain bag is made just for QVC and available at other retailers. They don't deny it. I wear NYDJ, but never from Q at that price. I can purchase them from Nord. Rack at a very discounted price and their own site just had 50% off. I'm not sure if NYDJ has separate "fits" or styles for Q, but the jeans they made for Chico's did not fit me the same as the others I've purchased.

I was aware of the clothing but not the Dooney and Bourke. To be fair the clothing is adequate I just don't think they command the prices that the Q demands considering they likely employ the same foreign manufacturers that discount stores do.

When perusing the Rack website I note brands like NYDJ and Kut from the Kloth are both considerably cheaper than what the Q is selling them for!

When I lived in Korea we made a game of shopping: at that time many things were made in Korea for export. Frequently the same factory made multiples of same item and each company even had the printed tags and mfsr pre printed. Learned a lot about clothing and athletic shoe retail: very eye opening!

I don't consider anything sold by QVC upscale because their clothing doesn't come close to the quality sold by high end retailers.

In my opinion, upscale is design, fabric (material) and construction.

Yes, I am blessed to own some top name brands that are considered some of the best in the world. I worked hard to earn my money and I spent it on a few items of beauty and quality that will last forever.

I find the same "upscale shopping" experience at QVC-- I am a big fan of Louis Dell' Olio, Isaac Mizrahi and Bob Mackie, and many of their outfits rival clothes I can buy anywhere else.

For casual wear Denim & Co, LOGO and Quacker Factory never fail me.

I have seen the exact same D&B purses on QVC for sale at both Macy's and Boscov's.

In the end, it all comes down to what makes an individual woman feel comfortable, stylish, attractive, and happy with what she spent!

Linea by Louis Dell'Olio to me is an upscale line. Many pieces in his line are of impeccable quality and timeless designs. He is a true designer with impressive credentials.

Many brands here I think are considered to be upscale by qvc standards but I often try to figure out what that means to the q. In my opinion there are very very few lines I'd consider 'high end'. Many here think logo, SG, IM are upscale - NOT. They just charge a lot of $$$$$$ for these. None of these so-called designer lines are even worth the high prices the q charges for them. It's highway robbery in my pocket book.

@SharkE The quality of the BD I purchased at Dillard''s is far and above the quality I purchased at Q. I threw away what I bought at Q. I had it more than 30 days when I wore it because I purchased in early Fall and did not wear until Winter. It ruined everything it attached to or got close to. My washer (and I washed on delicate/cold/hand wash) looked like I had washed a large gray persian cat in my washer. I have never seen such a mess. It was 2-3 hours cleaning from all the crevices so I could wash other items subsequently. I tried wearing one more time and quickly abandoned it. I do have BD from Dillard's. Not crazy about the brand, but it is better than QVCs. I am just not a fan of what I have been buying at other stores for years for 25% of the price.

@Biftu Back when LDO started at the Q, he was very upscale. He had silks and woolens and very nice clothing. Not the same as it used to be. I think Bradley Bayou was upscale. Maybe so, maybe not but I have a beautiful blue suede trench of his that I have had for many years that looks almost new after all the years of wear. I have LDO silk blouses and woolen suits that are beautiful and I just dry clean each year to freshen up. Nothing that is sold (even by LDO) is the same as it once was. Unfortunately, China made QVC rich and a lot of vendors deal in poor quality

@PINKdogWOOD I agree except for Isaac's cotton tees. Love them, last forever, beefy fabric, wash well, fit great and I always stock up. That's one item only Q offers.

I like some Graver items and Logo items. Tunics and pants from Susan could easily compete with Eileen Fisher. Same as Logo, I love her colorful cardigans and tops. Barefoot dreams is delicious and luxurious. QVC offer Gucci sunglasses and YSL sunglasses, it is very upscale. Josie Maran has upscale products.

Yeah, I remember I had a pricey Issac sweater that was the prettiest thing. White sweater with patch pockets . tad over 100 I broke the bank for that thing.

Washed it and that thing shed like a cat I had balls of fluff all over inside of washer, on the floor, on me, it was like snow. I dried it out

and sent it back. What a let down.....

I purchased a pair of Issac trousers, cotton blend. Supposed to be high quality, very popular, I fell for the hype because I liked the style.

After 1 washing it looks like something I would wear to mow the lawn. I kept them just for that.

crying shame. Don' t think he would intentionally put out sub par merchandise like that. He just wasn't knowing what was going on.

@Nonametoday You are right clothing materials are not what they used to be. It is very difficult to fine natural fabrics anymore. However, considering how things have changed I still appreciate the design elements and the materials used in the Linea line. For me his designs are classic.

I think upscale means different things to us. I don't think QVC has any true upscale brands Aspirational brands.. They have Basso and Mizrahi bur their QVC lines are affordable and not at all what I would call upscale. Upscale for me is something like Lafayette148 or designers like Stella McCarney or Carolina Herrera.

Linea used to be fairly upscale but no longer is. I have received some very different quality lately. I don't blame Louis because he has cost constraints from the Q to keep material costs down.

Isaac's clothing is hit or miss.
