Searching for Hat Style for Wedding

Ladies, I've always enjoyed wearing hats. I'm looking for the name of a particular style of a woman's hat that I think would be perfect for a very dressy wedding I will be aattending to be held when the pandemic "all clear" signal happens. I already have two formal outfits that I've purchased so now I just need the perfect hat!

I saw the perfect one on a recent episode of the PBS series All Creatures Great and Small. The wealthy Mrs. Pomfrey and her dog, Tricky Woo, are at the village's confectionary shop.

The hat sort of resembles a Basque beret, so it has a fairly wide bottom band that rests on the forehead but the rest of it has a high sort of semi-stiff flattened sandwich or upright irregular pancake shape above it. It has flowers attached to the band over/above the front of the left ear. I think this style is from the 1940s and '50s. Who knows--British women may stiill wear them today.

If I had the name of this style it would help me with my internet search.

Any of you fashionistas have any ideas of a website that depicts women's hats and their associated style names?

I just googled "styles of women's hats from the 40's" and a bunch of articles about hats came up. Perhaps this will help you out.

Perhaps " fascinator " style....it wouldn't flatten your hair like a beret style would.

@jlkz I wear hats all the time precisely because I have terrible hair. Baby fine, can't get "height" at the crown of my head, even with a perm. Beauticians have despaired and agreed with me that I'm a difficult case, so I just keep my hair long and just get the occasional trim.

My typical everyday hat is a wool beret--indoor and outdoors. People became accustomed to me wearing hats so it is now part of my signature. But I definitely want a fancier hat and the one that @Greeneyedlady21 found is absolutely IT.

I love some of the fascinators but they look a little "too-too" for plain Jane me. I know my daughter would roll her eyes if I wore one to my son's wedding reception.

I had a vintage fascinator for her wedding that matched my bottle green satin jacket dress and I removed it when I saw she was displeased. Didn't want to upset her big day, so I switched to a silk beret. But son's reception is absolute formal dress so I have a gown with a jacket as well as a fancy formal chiffon and beaded three piece pants outfit from which to choose.

@aroc3435 I would look on Etsy. I typed in beret with flowers and there were many to choose from. Here's one example

@aroc3435 I typed in Basque beret with flowers on Etsy, there are also Basque berets without flowers on Etsy.

This one came up, but it's pricey. $186.00!

I'd take a look on Etsy. They have vintage hats and vintage style hat makers as well. I love the same style from the 40's a lot.
