TOPS/SWEATERS GOING LONG AGAIN?

Awhile ago, it seemed that tops were beginning to be shorter than the tunics usually available. Maybe the longer tops are back because everyone's back in leggings/skinny jeans around the house.

I wish I had known and purchased more shorter tops when they were shown.

@Shanus Perhaps they are back in style but not for myself. When I put on a long tunic my legs appear to be 3 inches long and look like a chimney,, it cuts me off badly.

I think QVC tends to offer more longer length tops than regular length. As a matter of fact about 2 years ago I noticed tops being offered at QVC are an inch longer. That inch makes QVC tops too long for me. I do not see these longer lengths (except tunics) any place else I shop. I guess that is what the QVC customer is buying.

@Boomernichols Same here. The TSV would be a dress on me. They look too long on models, too and they're tall!!

Speaking of the TSV, that center seam is a real turn-off for me. Then again, I'm really not a fan of anything in that D&C line.

I’m not petite, but I don’t wear leggings so I don’t really need lots of tunic tops. I already have several to wear with my slim legs & jeans. I prefer a traditional hip length for most of my tops and sweaters.

@Shanus Having gone back over the fall fashion shows, and with the bloggers,I am still seeing shorter tops but some longer too.

I'm tall so I can wear them but not a big fan. What I avoid is the high/low hem. I put that in the category of cold shoulder sweaters. Never made sense to me.

@ShanusI would hesitate to believe that tunics are going to be seen in brick and mortar retail as much as QVC. The runways were definitely not full of them this season and shorter tops are being introduced.

Personally, I think QVC is a few years behind in what is considered fashionable.

Certain brands (Susan Graver comes to mind) tops are much longer. Almost tunic length. Tops in online stores are much shorter. Isaac's tops are usually that length. But Graver, D & Co (some) are almost always longer then 26-27" While mall tops tend to be 23-25" length. I usually don't buy QVC clothing for that reason. I do buy Isaac's clothing. As I think they are better then the other brands also. I have a little butt, narrow hips. I don't want to cover them. (there really isn't anything to cover to begin with) Shorter tops are younger and cuter.

@songbird I definitely agree. Will check online if I decide to purchase anything for fall/winter.

I like a true tunic length with some drama it's the just too long shirts that I can't stand.They hit in the wrong place.

I would have preferred today's tunic with a different neckline and Jane just had it on and I found it to be too big. I like a slimmer more column fit

What I'm seeing (online at least) is a mix of long and short. Often the shorter styles are referred to as cropped - which on me often comes to just the right spot. I appreciate having options, because I definitely need the shorter versions.

I really ought to stock up more this year. I haven't felt like doing much shopping for clothes, though.

I find we're spending more on housewares - new sheets and blankets, new screens for our windows - stuff like that. Those are things we can enjoy right now, whereas "going out" clothes would be for the future, not today.

I think, like with every other style or treatment, it depends on the individual piece!

I think everyone can wear a tunic but not everyone can wear the same tunic. The length and shape has to be right for you and your height and shape
