Bizarre And Funny Names For Fashion Colors

I've been looking online for some new bras, and this is the most bizarre color name I've ever seen.

It's nymph's thighs. Seriously? Who was paid to think that one up? I don't even know what color a nymph is (I assume light pinkish), let alone their thighs. Sounds slightly risque🤗

I agree with you 100%! Sometimes even the hosts either disagree with the name of a color or they see the color totally different from what the name insinuates. How many times has a host said a color is supposed to be a bright blue but it looks teal (or whatever). When I was growing up ( I’m over 65) blue was blue, red was red, etc. the name was exactly what the color was.

Definitely a bizarre name. Nymph would have been ok, but adding thighs is just 👎🏻.

@Greeneyedlady21 I own a Calvin Klein bra with the color name Nymph's Thigh. It's part of the Invisibles bralette collection, and there's also a v-neck style that I own in it. I bought it from Macy's online because the Jockey one I bought was terribly uncomfortable on me.

The CK Invisibles bra I bought is the best fitting, softest, and most comfortable bra I've owned in years. Some of the reviewers at the site stated they tried the bra just because of that color's name - go figure. I ordered more Invisibles at the CK site, and found more unique color names there. The color names don't sway me one way or the other, but the fit & softness did. I think it's also an attractive bra.

This color was called "Josephine."

@Desert Lily Thank you so much for the information. I was considering trying that CK Invisibles bralette through Amazon, they have a special today. I could try it with free and fast delivery and return, and buy more if I like it.

Is it true to size, and is the padding modest enough? For no show, I'm sure you know what I mean.

@Greeneyedlady21 I found the CK bralettes to be more true to size than Jockey or Breezies bralettes. I can breathe in them Lol. I'm on the petite side, yet those other brands were too tight on me. Each CK bralette comes with removable pads that do ensure modesty. The straps on the Invisibles I bought are adjustable, which I liked. The fabric is silky smooth. I'm happy with my purchases. The bra you posted is a little different than the ones I bought.

@Desert Lily Thank you. The bra I posted isn't an Invisibles, I just posted it for the color.

The CK site has the invisibles on sale right now, with an extra 20% off of sale. I'd have to check their shipping and return policy.

On the CK site they just call the color nymphs, no thighs lol

@Desert Lily I received the CK Invisibles bralettes yesterday. Got a black and a nude. They were so soft and comfy when I tried them on. Definitely true to size as you said. I am a medium 8/10 and a 36B, and usually have to go up to a large in Jockey and other brands. Then the cups are usually too big.

These work for me. I think I'll try another pad in them rather than the triangles that are included. Thanks for your help.
