Side Stitch prices

Maybe this has been discussed before; if so, sorry for the repetition. Lately I have noticed a few good-looking items in the Side Stitch line, but the prices just take my breath away-so high. Does anyone have a good explanation of why this is the case?

There was a post on this, saying why the prices are so high. I can't find it, tho. Everyone raves about the fabric.

@maximillian The fabric feels like silk w/o the extra care or dry cleaning. I have a shirt I purchased many years ago (on a very good sale). I wear it often all year round since long sleeve and can wear them down or roll up. Worth what I spent, but prices high now. I wouldn't purchase another at these prices.

Because QVC is overpricing these certain brands and people are actually purchasing at those prices.....sadly.

I have not yet purchased an item from this brand I have been looking at other sites for price comparisons and Q's prices seem to be in line with pricing. Amazon, Walmart on line, Nordstrom also carry this line.

I have a pair of crop pants in light wash and two pairs of the wide leg in light & dark wash and a strip blouse in this brand and love it. I find myself always reaching for these when I go out. The material is lightweight, soft and it flows on the body. I did get them at a sale price here at QVC. They wear like iron so for me the price is worth it,

@maximillian It is the brand. I love the fabric but I have never paid that much for it. Other brands are more affordable.

I've read that the fabric is lyocell which is sort of like tencel. I bought a couple of tencel pieces from Soft Surroundings, and while I like the designs, I'd rather have denim. One of my Soft Surroundings tencel dresses fell apart the first time I washed it. Thankfully I was able to get a refund. I'm sure some would like how lightweight and soft that fabric is, and I agree the Side Stitch pieces look good, but I'll pass on that fabric and those prices.

@maximillian I wondered about the prices of Side Stitch garments as well. I googled Tencera and lyocell and found that Tencera is a brand of lyocell. Lyocell is a rayon fabric made from a spinning process of tree pulp. Then, I went to the Target website and did a search using "women lyocell." I found that Target had women's button-down shirts made of 100% Lyocell for $19.99, pants made of 100% Lyocell for $29.99, pajama pants made of 100% Lyocell were $16.99, shorts made of 100% Lyocell were $19.99, short pajama pants made of 100% Lyocell were $12.99, all at regular price the day I checked. A blend of 64% cotton and 46% Lyocell was available in a women's tank top for $8.00 regular price.

10+ years ago, I bought a pair of 100% lyocell pants with a paper bag waist at JCP. I didn't like the way they wrinkled, so I never bought 100% lyocell apparel after that. Idk if the fabric has been improved since then, but if it has I might consider a purchase in the future or a purchase with a lyocell/cotton blend at prices I would find acceptable.

Such good info. Thank you. It confirms my first impulse that I will NOT purchase the Side Stitch brand on QVC.
