JOGGERS REPLACING LEGGINGS?

The joggers w/ cuffed ankles seem to be favorites in Rinna's line, Anybody loungewear, Denim & Co., Cuddleduds, etc. Even the petites, when offered, cannot be hemmed because of the cuff, and are too long on me. I'm seeing less leggings offered except for Spanx.

Your thoughts?

I know many don't like cuffed joggers, but I love them, when I find a good fit. They have become my lifestyle uniform.

Considering that joggers are not flattering to most women I would think not.

The allure of leggings is women wear them as compression garments.

Joggers are cute on a very small % of women, on everyone else they make the leg look short and thick.

To me, joggers are nothing more than sweat pants that I wore in my younger days. I can't see them replacing leggings.

I agree joggers aren't always the best look for some, but we also see many people wearing leggings who -- frankly shouldn't.

I don't think joggers will replace leggings, since we all have our preferences for our body types. I'm just glad we have a choice.

Nothing is being replaced. There are still joggers and leggings abundantly available.

Carolyn was on with Gary wearing a straight leg pant....she looked fab.......10 lbs thinner - clean lines from middle to ankle - so neat and put together.

No huggy - tuggy - showing every 'dimple' or food storage areas. A mirror can be your friend if you accept it's ......reflection.

And then there are those of us for whom the best bottom is a slim leg or one no wider than a very slight bookcut. Those make my best look when I can find the right length.

I do own some inexpensive leggings to wear when I go out to walk. Lots of days I do that before dawn and I've never had anyone comment on what I'm wearing. No joggers, people or pants, in my home for many years nor do I see that changing.

Leggings can be dressed up with a nice sweater or top, jewelry and cute short boots, but IMO joggers still look like sweat pants with elastic around the bottom, no matter what else you wear with them.

I wear joggers around the house, but I wouldn't go out in them personally.

I am not crazy bout banded bottom pants of any kind, I am only 5 feet and the band seems to shortern my leg

Hopefully both styles stay around. I don’t wear leggings since they aren’t my friend. I’ve adopted joggers last year after having multiple surgeries on my ankle/leg due to a car accident in Feb. The joggers from Anybody don’t rub on my scars. Hope they stay around.

One can’t replace the other, they are completely different styles.

I am seeing more joggers but there are still lots of leggings around.

I love joggers with banded cuffs - only kind I wear. I am retired now and "comfort" is my thing. Not all of them out there are oversized sweatpants. Paired with an LLBean pima cotton cowlneck top I am good to go just about anywhere. I especially like Liz Clabourne's "week-end" line.

Joggers will not be replacing any of my bottoms regardless what they may be. I don't like 99.9% of joggers in the way the bottoms of them are made.

I don't think joggers are replacing leggings. I think they are just another style of pants.

I bought 1 pair of joggers, wore them around the house and to walk the dog and pitched them. Hated them on me.

I know they try to dress up joggers but to me that just isn't a good look. To me joggers are sweatpants. I hate the look of a heel with them

I so agree with the comment about trying to upscale joggers with heels and then wear them out to dinner etc.. to me I feel very ackward. I just don't see women wearing them like that much at all. I did buy the DC ones with the snaps hoping the leg openings will be slender and look better but i'll wear them with slip ones or flats. I'll stick to leggings for wearing with heels.

I noticed that too--I have a few joggers to knock around in but would never wear them out--they are way too sloppy looking. Love my leggings/jeggings/slim pants.

I haven't worn leggings since the early 1990s and don't plan on wearing them in the future.

I recently bought some D&Co joggers to wear to physcal therapy. I like them, but wouldn't wear them anywhere other than PT or the gym, or around the house. I'll probably buy a couple of others.

For me - they just aren't approprate to wear anywhere else.
