I'm not sure I'll get used to it either. I really dislike the look. I feel like a slob if my top hangs out.

Much of the time I think it looks really bad on models during presentations, too.

I have a Dakota lamb leather cropped moto jacket and I LOVE it over longer tops with skinny jeans and boots. I always get compliments. I think the key is a longer shirt, but not frumpy (if that makes sense).

It's a popular look, but I've never thought it looked very good (sometimes better than others, of course). It breaks up a person's "look" midway down the body which I don't think is very flattering. Oh well!

I don't own many jackets but I love open cardigan styles worn over a longer tank or tee. Traditional length jackets look like business wear to me, just not my style.

So many jackets are so short these days that if the tops were shorter than the jackets my B BUTTON would show, and I'm don't like to be forced to tuck things in, but on occasion I have and worn a belt.I have gotten used to having tops hang down below the jackets, but they can't be loose and sloppy.

Tacky, Tacky, Tacky!!!!

It looks like Mommy forgot to remind you to tuck in your shirt. There's no way I would ever wear this look, and honestly I've never seen any of my kids or grandkids wearing this. Thank goodness!

I see it sometimes at WalMart, but never at any higher end places.

I very much prefer a longer tank or Tee under a short jacket. I am short in the torso so the look elongates me. If I wore a short jacket with a short tank, I would look like all legs, no body.

I've never, ever seen a good quality longer tank or cami at WalMart. I like a A-line style with nice drape and they simply don't make things like that.

Check out Soft Surroundings. Very high quality underpinnings shown under short jackets and sweaters. JJill, Chico's, and even Talbot's shows this look often.

The look is quite prevalent here.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad look, but I think it looks bad if you have a boxy jean style or cropped jacket over top of the longer, tight-fitting top. Jayne Brown was sporting that look this morning and singing its praises. You end up with a box over a rectangle and I don't think that is flattering at any size.

I've never gotten into it myself. It's true that a lot of women have that strip of a different color right across their biggest part and a lot them wear the darkest color there really accenting it. When this look first came out, I thought fashion must have really run out of ideas. The look really spoils the lines of clothing and does look very choppy when top, jacket, and bottom are different colors. I don't think it's a matter of being resistant to change, but rather knowing which current fashions are flattering to you and which are not. Many people wear things that are "in style" just because they are, doesn't mean they look good. We can all look back to examples of that, ha, ha.

It is not a neat clean look and I would not feel comfortable wearing it. But I would rather see a longer tee shirt than the jacket than someone's boxer/underwear showing from their jeans around their knees.
