Greetings, shopping friends. I didn't work today which was good since I didn't go to sleep until around 4am and then got up at 6am to put the trash out. I did go to town to get the mail and also to the local supermarket to buy some necessisties as the selection in the house was getting scarce. Until I didn't get much sleep, my plans for today included going to the city. That will now wait until a more favorable day.

I have a great selection of packages from the Q and the Post Office. I may pretend they are wrapped and open them on Christmas. Just joking as part of them are intended for gifts. Locally, our source of gifts are the Dollar Stores, so unless we shop online or in the city, the pickings here are slim.

The TSV is pretty but it doesn't appeal to me. I bought the Lock & Lock gift sets to use for office gifts, and I personally prefer them to these mugs. I also bought the Berkshire reversible faux fur throw for gifts but not the most recent Berkshire TSV. I have it from last year, so anyone who would get that as a gift should enjoy it.

I'm off to read and relax in the bed and hopefully with a nap but I'm not good at sleeping during the day unless very ill.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely. Remember those easy pays do add up!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry to here that you had another rough night of sleep or lack of KomKat. I never sleep well and those super early wake up calls are a killer for the day. The dogs had me up late last night alerting to something outside. By the time I get to where the flood light switches are then whatever it is usually is back into the woods. I have solar lights all over the place which is why I'm not running the floods. Judginfg by the dogs reaction it must have been one of the stranger wildlife looking in the side yard searching for water or food.

I've had the flu/cold on top of my usual "issues" so I haven't had a productive week ....so far. I'm debating on a grocery store trip today to get the turkey/s or waitng another day. I'm expecting a call from the eye doctor for my new glasses this week and I was hoping to get some lab work done. On the upside...I finally found a charity that will take our old sofas and chair. It's oversized and I keep moving it around from one room to another. We don't need all this extra seating and sleeping anymore and I'm tired of moving it to scrub carpets or get the vacuum around it. Next year we want to replace all the flooring down there. It will be a huge project and the fewer large and heavy objects to be moved will be the better.

I haven't been tempted by the TSV's for a few weeks now. I usually try to shop ahead for Christmas but nothing has caught my eye. Is it me or have they been lacking a bit? I did pick up 2 Bershire throws/blankets on clearance last month for the dogs kennels. They wash well and dry fast so that's a plus for us. I used to use old quilts in them but what a pain to babysit the washer and dryer when they were being cleaned.

Believe it or not...I had 2 pink mini roses and 1 Shasta Daisy still in bloom in the front garden. The deer couldn't get past that fence so they survived. Woo-hoo!

Hope everyone has a good afternoon/evening and sleeps well.

Good Morning/Afternoon and thanks for getting us started, Jean. Sorry about your lack of sleep last night. Probably a good thing you aren't working today, and I hope you sleep much better tonight. Glad you were able to pick up a few groceries.

You are certainly correct about easy pays. They seem to have lots of long-term easy pay offers, and I guess some people find the idea of only $20 or less a month to be very enticing. But, I can't imagine paying for relatively inexpensive items "on time". I am more tempted by "sales" and free shipping and handling.

We had rain (heavy at times yesterday), and have had a few showers today. They are still warning about flooding, but that has not been an issue in my neighborhood (so far). Our temperatures are cooler for sure, and I think it may not even make it to 60 degrees tomorrow or the next day. I know that is warm for many of you, but much cooler than the 80 degree highs we have been having.

I have my last OLLI class this afternoon -- I only took a handful of classes due to my trip this semester, but.... Anyway, this is a class about self defense and awareness of possible situations. No practice on how to fight back or anything. Nevertheless, it should be interesting.

Nothing else exciting here. I was supposed to receive a package from the Q today (IM turtleneck that was on sale), but yesterday received an e-mail that there would be a delay. No idea when it will arrive. I think I would be very nervous about ordering any time-sensitive items from the Q for a while. Apparently, they are working on warehouses, etc. It doesn't help that Amazon is so speedy with their orders.

Sorry you are suffering from a cold/flu, Fressa. That is nice about the roses and finding a place to take your unwanted furniture. Good luck with the grocery shopping when you decide to shop.

Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice day!

Hugs,

Linda
