Does anyone else follow George Simonton on Facebook? He has not posted in months. I am worried about his health. George was an odd ball designer who left QVC a few years ago many will remember him. He disappreared from QVC and hasnt been heard from since.

I read that he is developing 3 new labels for 2020-it will be his 40th year on 7th avenue.

Maybe he is just not keeping up with his facebook postings and doesnt' have time or doesn't want to.

I know so many people who have gotten off facebook.

I read he is partnering with L'Art de la Mode, an Italian company.

No I don't follow him of FB and never bought anything from George, but I thought he was a sweet person on air. I remember him wearing a diamond line bracelet and I thought he was an interesting dresser, loved his hair too.

I used to love watching him. His clothes were wonderful.

I googled “Where is George Simonton in September 2019” no you are right, nothing came up other than Facebook 2018.

I hope he’s not sick. He is so sweet and such a good designer. I would think taking one of his classes would be an amazing experience.

I used to like to watch him and the host Aubrey together - now both of them are gone.

He used to have amazing jewelry on his models that he had designed and I remember him saying that QVC was going to carry his jewelry, but that must have fallen thru

Just think: Chloe Dao, George Simonton, Sarah Campbell, Sarah Dennis (and almost Louis dell Olio) --- all traded off for IM (Target's housebrand, now QVC's).

I really enjoyed watching GS on QVC. He certainly knew how to design for a woman's body. I loved to hear him explain every seam and tuck on garments. Didn't he teach fashion design at a university? Too bad he's no longer on QVC.

In his early QVC days GS had nice styles. I still have one top and 2 jackets of his that I wear often.

In his last QVC seasons it was like he lost his focus / direction and it all went down hill.

It seems George is moving to Florida. He just had an estate sale of the contents of his Long Island home last month.

Loved his clothes and his presentations. At the end he was putting sparkles on blouses and lost me.

must have bought 30 blouses, skirts and jackets.

QVC didn’t renew his contract. I even wrote a letter to corporate and surprisingly received a call from the

Pres of QVC’s secretary.

He taught at FIT for 40 years—— he loved women and wanted to make us look good. A real class act. I miss him greatly.

Sadly George's contract was not re-newed at QVC and he seemed to fall off the map. I liked some of his things but he began dressing very strangely in the last year or two on the Q. Big red glasses, white pants and a lime green windbreaker one time. How a designer could dress so poorly was beyond my comprehension.

@Reever That was a few years ago that his contract was not renewed.

I liked the way he dressed. Made a statement.

He certainly danced to his own drummer... a real artist in fashion. He seemed like an odd ball.... but a genuinely nice person and really passionate about what he did.

Slightly off topic .... GS did teach at Fashion Institute of Technology. The school part of the NY State University System. I found out about this from an acquaintance who teaches math at FIT.

Senior citizens in New York, for a small fee, can audit classes at any of the state university schools.

FIT has quite a few courses under their Senior Learners Program.

@ahoymate perhaps not the best choice of words..... lets just say he danced to his own drummer. I personally found him a bit odd.

Huh? You are worried about his health just because he doesn't post on FB? I never considered him to be an odd ball or strange or any other insulting thing some of you have said. Like many people in fashion and in the arts, he was colorful and flamboyant. I was sorry to see him leave QVC but I understood why. After a while, his designs didn't work well for the average woman. He was stuck in design rut. As women began to dress more casually, he continued with his flouncy, ruffly stuff. Leaving QVC doesn't mean he stopped working.

I love GS and his clothes! I will never forget this---my first time in NYC a very fashionable "NY looking" lady came up to me while in a deli and complimented my top. It was a GS---even tho it doesn't fit anymore---I can't part with passing it on! LOL
