Tube Tops

Remember tube tops? I saw some photos of them and reminded me of being young. I had one at 9/10 years old that actually just covered the chest area with a tie in the middle that I tied around my neck. Didn't wear it often and only on a hot day.

Also, in my early to mid 20s, I had a couple tube tops with spaghetti straps that reached the waist. It being 100 degrees today (in northern California) and last part of summer had me thinking no more wearing summer clothes much longer.

I wore them back in the 70s too! I was young with a figure that looked good in a tube top.

LOL. I loved wearing tube tops. My favorite one was bright yellow and looked great with my dark tan. ( oh to be young,thin and not worried about sun damage). One night while walking on the Ocean City NJ boardwalk a cute guy told me that I looked like a lemon and asked if he could squeeze me.

I wore the halter tops in the 60's and tube tops in the early 70's when I was very young, very thin and had no boobs.LOL I remember wearing the head wraps too, we would get a yard of crinkle type fabric and wrap it around the head and tuck the end in. You really had to have a great face to wear that look.

@blackhole99 yes the tube top I had at age 10 was just a tiny piece of fabric that went around my chest which was fine because I had no boobs so no worries about a wardrobe malfunction LOL. Tube tops are still around today. I think my mom may have had one in the 1970s.

Oh Yeah! I wore them in the 60s and 70s. Used to wear them with my hip hugger bell bottoms. This really brought back some great memories.

They look great on 20 year olds. But, as you age, your waist line drops and you don't look great n a tube top.

Also wore with faded, blue overhauls in the 70s. A colorful, horizontal striped top was my favorite. Size 3 and 5 juniors looked great in this and 'hot pants.' Remember those? My dad didn't approve of my pink hot pant outfit.

Oh does that bring back memories! I was 21 and all dressed to go out clubbing in my hot pants when my Dad got a look and asked "where do you think you're going in that get up"? I just put a skirt over the hot pants and took the skirt off when I got to the club. Dad never was the wiser.LOL

Like all you ladies, I certainly flaunted my thin figure in tube tops and bell bottom hip huggers. That was back in my flaming youth, when the only parts that jiggled were the parts that were supposed to. The thought of wearing something like that at this advanced stage of my life is horrifying and hilarious at the same time.

Now that I think about it, I'm surprised my parents allowed me to run around with that bra-like tube top even though I was only 9 or 10, I was practically half-naked from my lower belly up. LOL!!! I think because I was still a little kid at that age. I was small for my age back then. It's funny what you remember.
