The prices of clothing.......

I was browsing to see what was on earlier today. I saw a Women With Control jean jacket with fringe for $94.00! It was just a few years ago that I bought several Denim & Co. suede jackets for the same price. What has happened to the pricing that a fabric piece is the same price as a suede leather one a few years ago?? I would never pay that much for a jean jacket, and it seems that the Q is out pricing itself.

I agree with you. I used to have a closet full of Denim & Co. garments. It was an affordable line of clothing with fairly consistent good quality, well-made pieces. I still like the brand but I am very selective in purchasing only at clearance price or lunchtime special price if it happens to pop up there. I can do better, price-wise, in brick and mortar stores and get the same quality for far less. Plus, there’s the advantage of no shipping charge and no return charge because I can try the garment on at the store. I am not willing to pay $40 + $3.50 shipping for a simple long-sleeved t-shirt.

Unless lightening strikes I won't be purchasing any more D&Co. Always loved their pork chop pants - a month ago Gary and Carolyn had a rack of colors and....Carolyn said let's talk about the REAL denim ones first = only 2 of them.........so I bought 3 pairs Ya.....these are the same heavy - hot - too long ones I was disappointed with recently which I gave to the mission. Her claim - 'we haven't changed a thing...these are the ones you've loved " sold millions. Nope - you changed something big time!

I only shop local boutiques. This past Spring I found a lovely denim duster length jacket that was $92. Yes, I thought it was a bit pricey but I wear that jacket constantly. I'm so glad I got it. If it's cute, and you know you'll wear it, I say go for it.

@Biftu Do you mean price increases and tariff news? I watch national news 24/7 - no movies here. I think most of us are aware - but doubt many China boats have arrived yet to affect current pricing. THIS will be a big factor soon; but believe current price increases are just stores jumping the gun and using the news as an excuse.. $$$$$

Good grief, the grousing about prices just never stops. If you can't afford QVC, that fine. No reason to complain. They aren't going slash prices for you. There are many, many retailers out there at all price points, there is no shortage of places to shop.

Indeed and that includes me. I can complain about the complainers as much as I want. I agree with up the work though. It's like no one over in the office is working today. No emails, no requests, no new cases on my workques. I called ISD to ask if there are systems problems today and they said, everything is fine. It feels like a Sunday or Holiday.

Not one poster said they can't afford QVC. You need to read the post, and understand what they are saying before you decide to judge. Let me remind you this is a forum, and that means it is a place to complain if we want to. Seems like many posts I have been reading, you must agree with the OP no matter what is posted. Complaining about prices? All,posters must agree.

Complaining about hosts? All posters must agree with the complaint about the host.

Have nice things to say about a host? All,posters must agree.

If these things don’t happen, dissenters get slammed.

There is no such thing as having a different opinion. It must be the same as the OP. These forums have become a joke.

The prices on Q clothing brands were increasing long before new tariffs were in place. I buy one or two clothing items a year from the Q. They are either items on sale or something truly unique. I can find better deals on similar items elsewhere, but I still browse Q clothing from time to time.

Whenever anyone complains about higher prices on items, shipping costs, etc., the unofficial “Complaint Police” show up to reprimand posters. I guess it’s a hobby with some. Hey, DH needed two new tires for his car, and I was shocked at the price. Groceries? Always a shock. There’s a big list.

Shopping sales is still good idea. I have gotten many bargains here by doing this..I don't find them any differnt in price than the other places I shop. I guess it depends on where you purchase your clothes?
