sizing so unpredictable!!!! UGH!

so I thought I had my Cuddl Dud size all figured out. small. sometimes extra small. so i ordered three pairs of the comfortwear shorts. One floral pair and two solid colors.. so the floral fit like a glove and the material is more silky than the other two... the two solid colors are tight in the waist!!! what the heck???? and i bought a pair of lounge pants that i can sweep the floor with they are so long.......I just don't get it. so another return. so frustrating. just when I thought I was a happy camper and had it figured out. sigh....

It's exactly the opposite for me. I am size 16/18 and the biggest reason I shop with the shopping channels is that the sizing is so easy and I never have any sizing issues. The size charts are available for each garment and they are user friendly. I buy a lot of clothes...perhaps too many....I can't even recall when I last returned something because it didn't fit well. I believe it was over a year ago when I first a brand I had no experience with. There are so many brands here now and the concept of "QVC sizing" does not exist now and hasn't for quite some time so I always use the size charts every single time I order.

@chrystaltree I shop online without a hitch too. I wear the same size in all of the places I shop. I just placed an order at soft surroundings ,so, I am not sure about them yet

I just look at the garment size, if it is available , and it works for me

I believe you are referring to the manufacturing errors in inconsistent sizing. I totally agree with you. I have my favorite designers and cannot wear the same size in different items. The size charts can be misleading.

Always happy when I come across something that fits good and sometimes order multiples in different colors, hoping that the sizing will be consistent. In the meantime it is very expensive to try things and they do not work.

It's a shame that you need to look up the measurements every single time you shop; consistancy would be awesome! Especially in the size of the exact same item?!!

Alot of websites, in their customer review section, have a scale where purchasers can select how it fits, i.e. small to large. Something you can check out at a glance, how the the particular item is running. The Q needs to implement that too.

The Secret answer. If you are not looking at the actual measurements that are listed in the description where it says “click here“ you are doomed.

I discovered this ordering LOGO tops. A medium in one model has very different measurements than a medium in another of the same brand.

By going to the “click here“ the actual bust measurements for every size is there for that item.

Bust: I know anything larger than 42 inches will fit me. Also take into account if items are knit, they will stretch a little more.

Inseam: if it’s not min 30 inches it’s too short for me. You could’ve seen aa the actual measurements for all the garments that you were purchasing.

Just today I received a second pair of Louis Dell'Olio pants, same style and size I ordered a few weeks ago. The first pair fit as they should. The one received today are much too small. No, I haven't put on weight. The first pair fits exactly the same as they did when I received them.

From my experience, the only consistency with QVC's sizing is its inconsistency.

I am thankful for the garment measurements which telll me whether I will be able to get the garment on or not, but not much more than that. With tops, I do generally OK, but pants are pretty unpredicatble and hard to get a good fit. I generally have to size down, but don't know how much. And sometimes a pant that I like and fits great, I reorder and it doesn't fit. Very frustrating!

Inconsistent sizing usually has to do with the manufacturer of the garment. This is not just a QVC problem.

I saw a show about the factories in China that make most clothing sold in the US. The size tags are not sewn in by the person who makes the garment. One person makes the small, another the medium and so on. (not meant to be a pun) The piles of clothes are transferred to the labelers. If they run out of the proper size labels, they sew in what they think is the closest size label.

The same garment may be manufactured for different retailers. QVC sizing is (generally) generous. If a department store orders the same item and their sizing is less generous, sometimes orders cannot be filled so the department store items may be transferred to the QVC order. This could be the reason why two of the same size garment may not really be the same.

If you purchase the same garment in more than one color and find the garments have a different fit, it could be different color garments (of the same item) are manufactured in different countries. Mexico tends to cut the garments on the small side.

When you try on clothes in B&M stores, often times you will find the same garment in the same size has a different fit. What most people find frustrating is the fact here, you pay for shipping both ways. If I purchased an item that I felt had an consistent fit, I'd mark on the return label, the item is defective.

@so so My experience has been that even when I order the very same size I wear (medium) in two different colors of the very same item, the one of the colors can run smaller than the other. It's ridiculous. This has been true for more than one brand of clothing.

Therefore, I agree with you. I don't really understand the poster who say their sizing has been consistent for years and they don't have to return anything due to sizing. Even in the same size and item, in different colors of the item the sizing varies!

My daughter was complaining to me recently about how many things she orders that don't fit her. She shops all over and doesn't have much time to go into brick and mortar stores.

I never have a problem with sizing. Because I support my local b & m stores. I love to go into a store, chat with the sales associates that are so eager to help me find items. I love to feel, touch and try on before I buy. There's nothing like the thrill of turning around in the dressing room to see how nice an item looks on me!

I bought 2 identical D & Co. sweaters once in 2 different colors. One was 4 inches bigger across the chest than the other one.

I always check online measurements, fabric content, fit details, videos, reviews, etc. before ordering. Still, mistakes happen. Whether that be the fault of the manufacturer or the Q it is still frustrating.

I don’t buy much clothing from the Q anymore. I prefer to shop in local stores where I can try things on first. I make fewer mistakes that way.

Yes! And the hosts so often say "use your usual QVC size." There is no such thing.
