Don't have water in the iron and my tops I just put in dryer on no heat cycle do have fabric softener sheets in there maybe that's what's causing those spots that just materialize out of nowhere when you lay your iron down on the top.

I think it's something in the clothes they're making now days.

Any one have a theory on why when you iron a top your ironing board cover is clean in good shape, the iron your using is shiny silver clean and when your ironing these spots appear out of nowhere.

Look like grease spots where in the world did that come from you wonder. Happened on a Denim & Co top that had spandex in it.

Wasn't there when you started ironing it they just appear out of nowhere when you press an iron down on the fabric.

That's never happened to me, but I wondered if it was caused by a finish or chemical on the fabric. Do you use fabric softener?

You can make your own Downey Release Spray

1 cup distilled water

1 tea fabric softner

1 tea alcohol

You won't have to iron, but you are spraying petroleum all over your clothing. Fabric softener is a toxic product. It leaves an oily film on fabric.

I iron my blouses all the time. I don't like looking unkept. I use spray starch to make them look crisper. As long as I purchase blouses, I will continue to iron. It doesn't take that long to do. I hang my blouses to dry.

Also, grease usually shows up after heat comes in contact, like the dryer. If you line dried the item, the iron could be the heat that showed the grease.

I used to have grease spots all the time after drying on the dark tees our sons wore. I just poured original Dawn dw liquid all over te stain and left them until the next load of laundry. Worked like a charm.

Your water reservoir has build up. You need to clean it and only use distilled water. When the iron gets hot it comes out with the steam and puts the spots on your clothing you are ironing.
