UGG boots, etc.

I recently discovered some interesting info and thought I'd pass it on. I purchased a pair of slippers from the UGG Australia website. The logo on the slippers was UGG.

They were made in China and I had to return them after a couple weeks because the stitching was falling apart. I made the incorrect assumption that since I purchased them from the actual UGG site, they would have been made in Australia, but they weren't.

My daughter's friend was in Australia for several weeks in Dec and Jan. He visited an UGG store, and bought boots and slippers that were made in Australia. Here's the weird thing, the logo is slightly different. If is actually UGG, made in Australia, the letters are all the same size. He was told by someone at the store that UGG products are made by Dexter shoes in China. So, if you don't want your expensive UGGs coming from China, look for the logo UGG, exactly.

I have no idea how I knew that the word UGG had to be the same but I did. I must have seen it somewhere.

There are a lot of counterfeit items out there on very real looking counterfeit sites!

PBK, they are not counterfeit! That's the weird thing! Evidently the UGG company allows Dexter to make the shoes with a slightly different logo.

That is the 'genuine' logo. That is the brand of uggs that has become famous. if the letters are all the same size then it's not the ugg brand.

However, the word ugg describes a style of footwear. It's not a brand. Your daughter's friend visited a shop that sold a different brand of uggs. And they could well have been better quality.

Pagan, sorry. According the actual UGG store sales people in Australia, the logo UGG is the one made in Australia. The other, with the big G in the middle, is still an UGG product, but made by Dexter in China. It's confusing!

I checked with my friend who is from Australia and she brought me a pair of UGGS last year when she went back there......she said the UGG logo must have all caps to be the real thing.

Yes, I'm agreeing with you!

You're thinking something made in China must de facto be a counterfeit but that isn't the case here. It's just a different version.

That 'actual' ugg store you mention is AN ugg store. Ugg is not a brand name, it's a type of boot.

The more famous 'uggs' as worn by celebs etc when they were fashionable, a dozen years ago, are made in China by Deckers. When most of the world (outside Australia) says 'genuine uggs' ... that's the brand they mean. The Deckers brand. But there's nothing Australian about them. They're the uggs but they're not made in Australia.

However, in Australia, 'uggs' mean the style not the brand. I'm absolutely sure ones you buy in Australia are better ... but they aren't the ugg brand that were once the height of fashion. I think that's where the confusion lies.

So buying from Ugg Australia doesn't mean you've bought fakes. They are the genuine, most famous, worldwide brand. But I doubt they're the best quality and probably not the brand actual Australians would buy.

This is very interesting. I have a couple of pairs of what I would've called the "real" UGGs, and I have several pairs that my husband has bought in China when he travels there. I call these my China UGGs or my ChUGGs. I just assumed that the ones from China were fakes. I have to buy a size larger in the ones made in China. I will say that the quality is very similar between the two. I just checked the label on my real and my ChUGGs and they are both all capitalized.

Please do not buy Uggs from Austrialia or anywhere for that matter. buy the fake ones ,please Boycot all Uggs. Please /

If you could see the torture these poor sheep go through for that boot you wear, you would die.

They are not shaved ,big chunks of flesh are cut out and removed from their bodies and they have maggots all over them If you could see the video torture of these poor sheep just to make a pair of boots you would die on the spot.

This is in Australia,not even in China which I suppose is the same .

Please boycott these boots and do not ever wear them.Please! There are many immations that look so real but a fake fur.

These sweet sheep are skinned ,flesh included, alive( skinned not shaved) for boot fur and other wool products FROM AUSTRALIA.After they are skinned for their wool they are kicked and beaten and sent to slauter houses where their throats are slit by humans by hand and left in piles alive to bleed to death for hours and hours. They also gut them while they are still alive and they cut off their legs while alive too.

It is sickening. We MUST stop buying these products. If you have any kind of conscience at all.
