Ralph Lauren's style is American, Preppy, Western, Equestrian, Native American, so I think he wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything like this. But, who knows...if it helps sell.

Tie die was popular in the 60's...IMO, ugly then...wonder what he was thinking.

I agree with you. I associate Ralph Lauren with a hearty Americana vibe. He must have a new designer working for him that wants to go in a different direction.

I like tie dye.

This is a refreshing change from the usual stuffy, preppy , dowdy RL fare.

I do like the American west collections, but the polo shirts and nautical stuff is a big no for me.

Like! The idea is that they're tie dye on classic styles (polo, oxford button down, cable sweater) or worn with classic blazers and such. So in many ways, it is classic RL. Some are more sporty, but the RL line has a fair amount of style diversity -- it's not all just stuffy blue blazers.
