I wish I still had the body to wear those. 🙁 Sigh..all I can do is look at a lot of fashion and lust at this point in my life. Amazing how just a couple of inches that migrates from your rear to your waist can change what looks good on you. 🤣

The Caroline Herrera shift dress (print below) style has been around since the 1960s. We called them shift dresses then. I had a Vogue pattern and made lots of them. From pattern pinning to hemming - you could make one in an afternoon.

I have a LBD version in the closet at the moment .... I've had it for so many years (from Chico's) ... never goes out of style and change accessories and I can go just about anywhere.

I want to add something. I don't think anyone is too old or fat or thin for any of those clothes. I see women in their 70s, 80s, 90s wearing similar clothes. They look fabulous. I see women of all sizes, too. I don't care if someone has saggy arms or crepy skin or knobby knees. I still think they look beautiful when they carry themselves well. Just speaking for myself, my new shape wouldn't do justice to the lines of the clothes. It would make both the clothes and myself look dumpy. It's not my size, its my shape that determines what I wear. I'm not the thinnest of the thin, but I'm not fat. For me, it's all about cut and proportion.
