Why don’t we get a TSV from Bob Mackie or LDO?

I saw Bob on this morning and was just wondering why he doesn’t have a TSV. I don’t watch all the time and maybe he has, but I’ve never seen one. LDO also. These 2 men are great fashion designers, and I can’t imagine that the item wouldn’t sell.

This is just out of curiosity, and nothing against some of the other designers who have multiple TSV’s a year. What are your thoughts?

I feel the same way. I guess the reason is that QVC is to busy pushing Susan Graver & Lori Goldstein to give their customers what they have been asking for, for many years.

Louis has gotten Several QVC 2 Big Deals But no TSV’s.Which is odd since he is the classiest most talented designer the Q has ever had.

One reason, I think, is because Louis and Bob are not "owned" by QVC, but brands like, SG, IM, D&Co., Logo, Halston are, so, QVC will naturally TSV more of those.

QVC does not own IM.Company named Excel does and SG owns her lablel. They both exclusive in QVC.Thats will be correct.

i believe Excel also owns Halston. Don’t know about Logo.

I think both brands have a limited following and a TSV would not be successful for everyone to make money from it. I am a QVC customer for 20 years and have never bought a thing from either brand.

I'm going to take a guess and say it's because neither Bob nor Louis mass produce anything that they do. The big deals do not sell like the tsv. For example Kim's recent big deal only sold 8000 pieces!

I buy a Mackie item about once or twice a year.

LDO I don't like, so I don't bother watching.

Caught some of Mackie today - those sparkle pants + tops ............he certainly is still in the Las Vegas state of mind. Show girls and entertainment is def his favorite field.

I would welcome seeing a TSV from Louis. It seems like it has been a very long time for him. Bob Mackie is not my taste but I would still welcome seeing a TSV from him. Yes, QVC favors certain clothes designers and cosmetics cos. and it gets OLD very fast.

OK with me .... I can't stand him either.

Not everything BM does is glitzy. I have a bunch of stuff I bought over the years. I do like his embroidered pieces. I also like his chiffon pieces.

I guess it depends on one's lifestyle. I frequently go to places where I need to wear somethng a bit dressier. BM fills that need.

Yeah - hate? I laughed when I read that one. So I don't dig sparkle pants and Louis = for whatever reason. I won't bother customer service because I only buy vac cleaners - flashlights and a couple of food items from the Q. Have gone elsewhere for 'fashion'. Both gents have no threat from me. lol

Both designers are extremely talented and I still purchase a lot from the Linea Line (especially his Whisper Knits). I do have Bob Mackie straight leg pants in my cart today.

Unfortunately, they both fight for decent time slots on QVC, top-notch hosts, buyers' approvals, pricing and budget constraints, etc. Both Bob Mackie and Louis Dell'Olio designs all of their own clothing items (not employees working for them). They do not mass produce. Each designer attends fashions shows abroad, decides what his clients may like for the season, selects all fabrics and colors, creates intricate artwork, and sees the process from inception through completion and on-air presentation. They are unique!

Both men are "old school" in their designs. They are gentlemen who prefer to see women dressed in classic styles. It's not for everyone, but their styles are timeless and last a very long time. Hopefully, QVC keeps them coming frequently as long as they want to show their designs. I enjoy tasteful, well-made clothing.

Frankly, I'm not sure either man wants to have a TSV. A full day of sales is exhausting! The thought it such a day might be daunting to them at this point in their lives. Both have proven themselves to the world.

ETA: Would love to have both men be able to provide us with their silks, wools and natural fibers of days gone by. Those were the days of fabulous fashions! I simply won't wear polyester and/or spandex.

I would NEVER wear anything from BM or LDO.

BM's clothing is SO outdated, his prints are GAUDYand UNATTRACTIVE, and LDO's clothing is WAY too CONSERVATIVE and BORING.

LDO has had at least two BIG DEALS this year, maybe more.

cannot remember if he had a TSV.
