An 88 year old trendsetter on Instagram....

She's racked up close to three million Instagram followers for both her unexpected, youthful sense of style and her no-holds-barred personality. At 88 years old, the trendsetter has no plans of slowing down (or toning down her style), and we're ever so grateful.

She's having fun and I say more power to her! (What a great figure).

This is one of my greatest fears. And I am not kidding. I want to be cheerful and interested in life, but my worst fear is to start looking like and act like an old fool. Like I no longer know how old I am and think I'm three, or fifteen or even 30.

I am old and I'm ok with that. I don't have to dress matronly, but I pray I will never lose my sense of where I am in life and who I am.

Her outfit is great, but she would look so much better if she lost that "old lady scowl". What might be a pout on a 20 Something just looks like a lipless grimace on an older woman. relax that face!

My mother’s older sister dressed like the Instagram lady. Rather than being admired as a trendsetter, she appeared desperate for attention. It might be fun to follow someone on social media who makes surprising fashion choices, it’s quite a different story in real life when your 90-year-old aunt is riding with you to a public event wearing a tank top and cut off shorts.

Sorry, but I do not think an elderly person dressing this way is attractive. I feel there is such a thing as age-appropriate attire.

In my opinion, everything doesn’t go with everybody.

I agree that the trendsetter looks like she is trying too hard to look like she is a fun, young, hippy, trendy person. Lots of fun, youthful looks without the cartoon character persona.

The other woman is, by my standards, still quite young. I agree that she ages herself with the Victoria Beckham scowl.

I’m in my 70s, look older, wear what I please for convenience and comfort, and don’t care whether anyone likes my look or not.

BUT-

The woman pictured looks to me like someone attempting to dress like a garish 17 year old while wearing the wrong face. While I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT think “fashion” needs to be “age appropriate”, I DO think that time lends a certain sense as to what one’s own personal optimum look is.

Not my problem, live and let live, “she’s happy and it’s her call”, but don’t expect me to emulate her choices.

Dressing far afield of the mainstream doesn’t necessarily equate with being fresh, youthful, bold “no holds barred” in my book.

But then again, as I said, I don’t care.

I have a different take on it. I am 66 and ok with aging but one of my greatest fears is that I will loose my identity and unique style and start looking like someone I am not which is an old person in typical conservative boring old person clothing just because others think it's time to become an old person!

@Pook That's my point. I want to look like myself. I am old and not ashamed of it at all. I don't think it makes me less than or different from the person I've always been.

I have worn typical conservative clothing all my life and NOBODY has ever accused me of being boring. I am an intelligent, well read person who has a lot of interests and friends--now that I'm old just like when I was young!

I'm old and proud and not chasing youth or my past! That's why I would never dress like that women. Im glad to be old!
