spanx alternative for $7.88

In Walmart I saw these "super plush ankle legging" that looked like velvet. For $7.88 I had to try them. Usually wear a small but it was a little snug so got the med & it is perfect. I do have the cuddl duds velour legging & these are just as good. The fit on cuddl duds small is more relaxed than the walmart med. Only saw them in black.

They might be a velvet like legging but at that price, there is no way in this world that they are the equivalent of or anything at like Spanx.

I bet you are right on that. However, if you can't afford $60-$100 for a velvet like legging, well, I bet this kind of thing would be a nice alternative. It won't pull you in, and it won't last that many washings, but it could be nice for someone who just can't spend the big bucks.

I wouldn't mind trying your find. Wish we had a nearby WalMart or KMart.

Spanx also makes 'Assets' brand of leggings. They sell the Assets velvet ones for $30. I found them at Target but they are temporarily out of stock right now. You can get on their notification list for them. They come in black only.

I've purchased a few of the Spanx Assets items, I like them. Love the Spanx Assets tights, I have several from Kohls that I've had for many years and they've held up well.

The Q used to sell 'Red Hot Label' velvet leggings by Spanx years ago. They were firm-shaping leggings.

For $7.88 I'd be afraid to wear them. They probably would fall apart after a few hours or stretch out. If they last one wearing, good luck after washing!!

@Pook, you'd be surprised. I'm not sure of exactly what the OP is talking about because I've not seen them or felt them. But over the summer, I bought 3 pair of crop leggings from Walmart that were $5.66 a pair. They were a brushed material so they were very soft.

I wore those leggings all summer long not only around my house but while camping as well. The solid black pair I wore weekly so they were washed constantly and they are still in perfect shape and put away for the winter until next year when it gets warm again.

I wouldn't at all compare them to Spanx but the quality certainly surprised me. I'm hoping I can find them in a full length version for the winter.

I have several pairs of those leggings and they are so comfortable. I have a pair with a Christmas theme, and a pair of plain gray ones. They are very nice. Walmart has some nice soft hoodies and nice jackets that are made of really soft materials. I was able to get a pack of two last year. You will love them.

Wow! I have had mine for over a year and they are fine. You don't have to over pay to get nice things.

Just because its expensive does not necessarily make it better. I have a pair of the Walmart leggings and I have had them for 3 years and are still just as good as the day I bought them. Some of us dont want to spend excessive amounts of money for items that can be just as good as the high priced item.

In all fairness I am sure it is a much better fabric, at 100 DOLLARS

However, for something you might just want to try, because ,you aren't sure you are going to like them. I think paying $7.99 is smart

Some of us can not pay $60.00 for a pair of leggings, some of the time and tru items are okay, they have pull on jeans that really surprised me.

I think Spanx thinks they have a cute name so they can charge ridiculous prices. There is no way I would pay $98 for their TSV yesterday (that is the original price) let alone the TSV price. If you can find another pair with a quality look for less, go for it. Spanx is crazy!!!!!
