Do you think it's too early to wear velvet?

I have a funeral tomorrow and wonder if I shouldn't wear velvet yet?

i dont think it is too early if it is cool in your area.

here it has been too hot to even think about velvet anything.

It's cool here today, but, I am not sure what tomorrow will bring. Our weather changes fast, and you can't always depend on the wather forcast

I wouldn't, but it's 4:00pm and 89 degrees where I am. Wear whatever is comfortable for where you are.

It's 59 right now but it is cool ,with a stiff breeze and cloudy skies.. I am old fashioned but I wear black to funerals

I got in the habit when I chaired funeral dinners. We had some funerals that were really tragic, and I just felt it was better ,to not show up in something too gay looking..I just sort of like to keep a low profile

@cherry It is important you feel comfortable. I don't go to a lot of funerals, but when I do I see every color under the moon, every type of outfit, and I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. But that's me. I'm pretty independent.

@World Traveler I did it out of respect for the families. One funeral was a young lad that was chased by a riva,l over a girl. He had been beaten up by this kid ,a few days prior , and this time the kid caused his death

I just wanted to be as obscure as possible..the parents were devastated

As others have said, wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Personally I wear velvet between Thanksgiving and February. Also, lately I've noticed few people wear black to funerals anymore.

@cherry It is not too early. In fact, velvet was shown for the summer this year (hard to believe). I like velvet in the fall/winter.

Wear whatever you feel is appropriate and will be comfortable in. It's going to be nearly 80 degrees along the I-94 corridor tomorrow though, so velvet may be way too warm.

I say it's not too early but you need to be careful who you ask because some of us would never get the chance to wear our cute fall clothes if we followed the rules! LOL

As for the poor child that was beaten to death I certainly hope the other kid was locked up for a long long time!

I know anything goes today where fashion is concerned, but I would not feel comfortable in velvet until December. To me velour is ok before December if the weather is cold.

@cherry I was looking at one website and velvet is everywhere for fall. Tops, blazers, purses. It's really big. I love velvet.
