QVC Fashion

More and more it is all about clothes like Cuddle Duds... roll out of bed in Cuddle Duds.... wear your same Cuddle Duds out shopping.... come home walk the dog and go back to bed in your same Cuddle Duds....

Sloppy, droopy, messy looking fashion.... seems like most of the fashion sold on QVC is like this. What is up with that?

I don't like Athleisure, yoga, or whatever they call it now clothing. It's fine when used for its intended purpose, but to wear it all the time is not for me.

I think I saw one pair of pants in the last few years with a side or front zipper. Most of the pants sold on QVC tend to be lounging type pants. Do they think we never go out?

Comfortable clothes make it easier.

I can't wear Cuddle Duds or Logo (too short & fat), but I am all about comfort.

As someone who used to love the tv show What Not to Wear, I only wear sweat pants if I am working out. As Stacy and Clinton used to say, "It doesn't take any more time to put on a nice pair of pants than it does a pair of sweats." Aslo, I would never pay #30-$50 for a pair of sweat pants.

@SeaMaidenlol As I sit here in my old, old XL sweatshirt, 8 year old jeans, and loafers that are maybe even 20 years old, I'm perfectly content. If I had to make a run to the supermarket or the PO, I'd exchange the loafers for a more supportive shoe (no more "fashionable") , throw my old raincoat over everything and go.

Sometimes when I go to shop Costco, I buy a cup of yogurt for lunch and sit there across from the registers to eat. Hate to say it, but America is dressing comfortable. And to a pretty large extent, I see old-clothes comfortable almost everywhere I go.

I think QVC is selling some lines that appeal to people like me but who perhaps don't have my oversupply of comfortable old clothes or who live with a spouse or some other family and feel a need to update even comfort/casual. Nothing at all wrong with that.

@millieshops I would rather see someone in 8 year old jeans than sweat or yoga pants. So many times they are so long they are dragging on the ground.

I also hate to see people running around in scrubs, unless it is their work attire. That seems to have kind of died down a bit.

HSN has something like a leisure wear outfit for their TS today. It is cute for home, but they are saying to wear it out to dinner or to work! They even had a model with a necklace on......the thing has a hood!

I'm with those of you who do not wear sweat pants (or whatever they are calling them, but they are still "sweat pants", lol) unless I am actually working out. I also don't dress to the nine's to do those same activities. I am most comfortable in my jeans with a polo type shirt or similar. I, who has worn jeans forever, don't understand when others say they are so uncomfortable, but.....to each their own, in this, as in everything.

@millieshops Nothing wrong with dressing comfortable and doing your own thing. I am all for that. I like comfort clothes at times myself. I just think it would be nice to see more real fashion on QVC.

As I sit here in my hotel room in Temecula, CA waiting to leave for the airport, I’m wearing Duluth Trading Company Noga pants in black, longer tee shirt and my Merrill shoes. I came over here in jeans and a tee. I don’t think it’s sloppy unless it has holes, to tight or very baggy. I’m certainly not going to dress up to go back to 105 degree heat. Jeans, shorts etc are normal for where I live. If someone dresses up in Phoenix they’re either going to a funeral or job interview and even those are pretty casual.

I wear athleisure clothing a lot at home and running errands. However, my athleisure clothing is not sloppy, droopy, messy clothing and I don't wear the same clothes to bed that I wear out and about.

My athleisure bottoms are generally bootcut yoga pants. Crops in the spring/summer and full length in the fall and winter. I don't wear "sweat" pants and I don't wear jogger pants. Joggers just don't look good on my figure.

I'm not really sure what the complaint is because there are plenty of non-Cuddl Dud type clothes on QVC and in B&M stores.

I like it for around the house particularly over the winter when it's cold and dreary...I like wearing comfy clothes. However I will not wear that out anywhere!

I also like to keep "leisure wear" separate from pjs.

I am a 71 year old grandmother and I agree with Sea Maiden. I just came back from my aerobic dance class where I wore my yoga pants and a tee. but after I showered I was not going to go around the house wearing that kind of outfit. It is pouring outside and I don’t plan to go out but I put on a nice pair of jeans, my new LL Bean long sleeve pullover, and my new Skechers navy blue slip-ons. I am completely comfortable but don’t look like I belong under the covers.

If QVC considers me a valued customer of 20+ years, I hope you are reading these posts. Yes, I am retired. Yes, I like to feel comfortable. BUT casual does not have to mean sloppy. Comfort does not require great effort. QVC can do better.

I think we all just need to realize that times have changed, and people do not dress up like they used to, or at least, not as often. Have you looked around at what people are wearing on the streets? I see yoga pants, knits, hoodies, tshirts, PJ pants.

I could care less what anyone chooses to wear. I dress for myself and wear what makes me feel good about myself. I'll say I'm generally more dressed than most people I see but even my most casual wear is always coordinated and stylish. It is just as easy to throw on a nice pair of pants or properly fitted jeans with a nice top. The clothing I choose is always comfortable with no feeling that when I get home I can't wait to change. Everyone should wear what makes them feel good about themselves.

But - my current life - I just wear regular clothes because I'm in and out everyday.

Athleisure is real fashion. From Merriam Webster, the definition of Fashion:

The spring fashions are now on display.

Literary fashions have changed in recent years.

Whatever people are wearing is, by definition, real fashion. People are wearing athleisure, yoga pants, knits, and comfy clothes. Just because you don't agree with something does not mean it's not real.

And I don't buy your pitch that people roll out of bed in the same clothes they go to the store, walk the dog, and then wear to bed again. Come on, now. Do you suggest that because the hosts say you can get out of bed and grab the paper or walk the dog without changing? That's not the same as what you described.

That is a little bit of aq sad picture though isn't it? I suppose it ties in with people being less social today.... texting or messaging rather than going out to meet.....working from home and wearing PJ's all day.... no one sees you so no reason to get dressed...

And of course with todays out of shape American.... wearing clothes to cover up to hide everything in oversized and "COMFORTABLE" with 99% stretch and elastic waist bands.... rather than wearing clothes that really fit, not hiding our "comfortable" bodies.

It is kind of a wake up call for the fashion industry.
