I am always amazed when people talk about buying clothing items that last only one season.

I buy my clothes everywhere - from "better" stores to discount stores. I don't know what some people do to their clothes, but I always use the hand wash cycle on my washer, cold water, and gentle detergent. I buy very few dry clean only items. I dry on the lowest heat setting; some items I lay flat to dry. I have had very few issues with anything wearing out or falling apart. An exception would be pjs and underwear; they don't always hold up to repeated washings, but then they are worn and washed frequently. All of my other clothes I can wear for at least 2 years; usually longer. I buy classic pieces, so I can get my money's worth, and wear them from year to year. I usually get tired of items and donate them before they wear out.
