QVC Return Shipping

As an avid shopper since Mar., I am telling on myself. I have returned numerous fashion items for various reasons. Mostly for quality or fitting. I keep hoping or maybe obsessive at this point that I find the item or designer that works for me. It's much easier to shop from my home!!!!
My question is on the $6.95 return label, does QVC make any monies on returns? It is bad enough that initial s/h on these items is wasted monies if I return.
The answer(s) may help me Stop my madness.

I'm sure they do. I rarely use their return label- I pack a couple returns together in a flat rate USPS package and end up pay much less per item for returning. I even buy the usps postage on usps.com and save a few more dollars that way! The packages get to Q much faster than their return label process- so my return gets credited sooner as well. I only use their label when the return fee is waived.

Return shipping fee is a real problem. I returned a lot, got the very polite letter asking me to be more careful. It was a wake-up call and has helped me. I buy very few clothes here now. Actually clothing here is a little expensive but along the price line of Coldwater Creek except CC has sales and sometimes shipping deals.

Your best bet 2018 is to shop carefully, look carefully at each garment on the models, read reviews. Next best plan is to do an exchange if you need it. Or plan to keep the item no matter what! The $6.95 is killer! I have returned jeans and shoes on my own label and it was more than $6.95.

What is infuriating me is that they will pack two things in one box to me, but when you go online (when you no longer have the original package) to print a return label, you have to print two of them. I will no longer return multiple packages if they combine their shipments into one.

6.95 charge is not just for shopping but handling as well. There are people working who receive, assess, sort, return to manufacture or repackage for restock etc. Nope, not a lot of profit marggin there if any. I cannot imagine what the company goes through because people shop for clothes this way. I've only returned one item to QVC ever (defective back massager).

If I had returned "numerous" clothing items to QVC, I'd be looking somewhere else to buy my clothes. Plenty of other on-line choices available for clothing. Or try one of the other shopping channels.

Hello again and I appreciate the input. In response to some input, I thank you for sharing your experience with this. I am fairly sure that QVC has planned for returns and handling especially for "people who shop this way"
@LizzieInSRQ I wasn't looking for criticism or judgement on my habit but simply asking if QVC made monies on returns. It only takes one to be snarky! I was warned about these kind of people and
I found her/him. Goodbye.

Most of the return labels seem to go to central sorting depot and take a long time to get credits. Your way seems faster and easier! Thank you for reply.

Their shipping and return label charges are a definite source of profit for the Q. This has even been mentioned in their quarterly reports to shareholders.

@Kimnola Of course the Q is making money. It's $6.95 using their return label and then they keep the initial shipping cost. If you know that your item does not weigh that much, return it on your own at the post office and it will cost less. You have to make sure that you are looking at the size chart located on the left hand side under the description for accurate measurements. Stop purchasing anything from the brand that had poor quality. I buy most of my tees from JJill. Great quality and they have great sales.

@dulwich on the packing slip/invoice- buried in smaller print - is the option to return items on your own. I use that address; I can't recall the exact street address but it's in Lancaster PA. It's probably still a central hub for processing returns- but my packages are delivered in 2 business days. Rather than the extremely slow timeframe of the pre printed return labels !

For items under 15 ounces you can print postage at home for $4 or less. If you have a Paypal account it's quite easy to print your own labels. Just do an online search for Paypal Ship Now.

Also, USPS has a "Flat Rate Padded Envelope" . Currently you can pack it full and heavy for $6.70 if you print shipping label at home. I've used this to pack multiple returns. The padded envelopes are only available online but you can order a set for free at USPS's website and they will be delivered to your mailbox.

Other than this I often find the return shipping charge from QVC to be reasonable for the size or weight of the package.

@busymom22 On usps.com I also check the prices for priority A and priority B shipping for my returns. You need to use usps packaging. I've never seen them on display at the post office- but it's easy to order the boxes on line (for free! ).

It is rarely ever cheaper for me to return something to QVC, especially an item that is weightier. I 've been burned more than once.

Anything over 13oz using USPS.com or the self-mail computer located inside the post office, has to be sent priority mail and it's not cheaper for 1 item. And there is no way I'm just weighing my package and sticking enough postage on it to send it back without any way of tracking.

For sending multiple items back, it is cheaper to stick everything in one package and send it back on your own.

Of course QVC makes money on the shipping both to us and returns to them. They ship in bulk so they get a discount. And if anyone reads their quarterly reports, it's right out in the open how much money they make on s/h charges.

I just paid over $15.00 shipping for a few Anybody tops (featherweight) .I am sitting here thinking I could have had them shipped ,next day air for that price somewhere else! .

Tried to cancel but of course, I cannot even though they probably will not arrive untill Sept.

@Kimnola there is no shipping fee if you return and exchange for a different size or color. You will be credited for it.

I loved a Breezies bra they showed on-air the other day. It was BOGO $3 off. Seemed like a good deal until I did the math. If I ordered 2 bras on one presentation, QVC will send to me in one package, but charge me two shipping charges. So there's $3 shipping times 2 = $6. Then, if the bras don't fit me, I have to send back to QVC and that would cost me $6.95.

Hmm.... it would cost me almost $13 to try on those Breezies bras (if I dont like them and need to return). I decided to drive to Kohl's and buy my usual bras.
