I think that's because they were individual size prototypes.

I agree with the prototype thing. I was once a men's buyer who had an opportunity to buy samples for DH and myself once the lines were presented to all stores. We were always cautioned that these samples were whipped up quickly and would not have the quality of the final pieces. But they were cheap and we ended up with a varied wardrobe.

Yes -- interesting! Good grief. Who cares about wrinkles in this circumstance; these are not the final versions of the top, and selling is not the point of this article.

@Mz iMac- thanks for the article. It's interesting that the fit models are different sizes and shapes and also that QVC "requires" the designers to make their garments in all the sizes they offer but after the fit models and whoever else throws in their opinion at the round table they decide whether or not to actually have a plus size model certain garments.
