Another Cold Shoulder???? ENOUGH!

When is it going to end??

It is by far the most unflattering look I have ever seen. I was shopping a few days ago and saw many women, young, not so young, small, big, etc. and none of them looked nice in the cold shoulder. What is the appeal? I think it makes women look broader because your eye sees fabric, then bare shoulder, then fabric, it's too 'chopped up' visually.

And would someone at QVC please teach your staff that the word is

I'm with you, savories. I don't know what the appeal is. I also think these will be "in style" for a very short period of time.

I am not a fan of the cold shoulder either...figured they would disappear for the winter season fashions...but they are making them now as sweaters, etc............still think it would be too cold for the northern states in winter...but may sell more south.....

Whenever I see it on QVC, my first thought is that somebody made a mistake. I have never seen one in real life. I do know someone who posts photos on FB and she often wears a cold shoulder. She recently posted photos in regular sleeves and looked so good. It just always looks to me like something is missing.

I tried one of Simonton's a few years ago ... didn't like it. Felt odd under a jacket and you could see the outline of the cutout through a sweater.

I removed the sleeves entirely and made it sleeveless ... looks fine.

I think the bottom line is that this style is not flattering on most people. Fashion is supposed to make you look good, at least that 's what I thought.

Why would you wear a jacket or sweater over it? That defeats the purpose of the garment.

I've been off work for over 6 months due to a horrible accident. I have mentioned before the lady I work with who wears them often (and shouldn't). I was hoping over those months, she lost interest in the fad but on the day I returned to the office, she greeted me at the door in one. Oh lord, it's not a pretty sight on her. I think some people think anytime they show skin, that automatically makes them sexy.

@makena. Haven't you heard. We need sweaters and jackets in the summer because theaters, restaurants, etc all have their ac on high. The rest of the year they give us that extra layer so we can be in style.

Another Cold Shoulder bash - enough already!!!! When are they going to end!!!

If any style doesn't appeal to anyone it will look awful to them no matter what!! I think boring conservative clothing looks terrible on most people but it is just not my taste in clothing and because of that most look awful in conservatiave classics to me. Others like to blend in and follow preconceived notions that especially older woman must wear conservative classic clothing and abandon their own individual sense of style because anything else will look awful on them because they are grown women!! I love cold shoulder tops and have many but there are some styles of them that are not a good look on me but look great on others. I like a more open cold shoulder as I have very toned arms and get so many compliments when I wear mine from strangers (both men and women) who comment all the time. Sure a person with flabby wrinkly arms and slight shoulders probably might not look that good in some styles that shows too much arm but it's up to them to choose the clothing they like. Wear what you like and like what you wear but leave others choose to wear what they want!!! There are styles that appeal to all so no one is being forced to wear what they don't like! Everyone should be themselves and accept that others do not always like what they like and wear!!

Hmmmm. I live and work in the DC area and I see cold shoulder tops all the time -- Spring thru Summer. Usually casual ones like cold shoulder t-shirts and lightweight denim shirts. But leaving the movies on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, and driving through "restaurant row" in beautiful weather, you see lots of couples walking out & about, dining outside, and the cold shoulder tops are in their glory!

l. You don't have to yell at posters about clothes. there's more important things to worry about in this world then cold shoulder tops. This isn't world war III

I happen to love cold shoulder, I will not wear sleeveless, but I do have great shoulders so I wear them
