Hosts are Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace, and Rihanna.

The "Heavenly Bodies" exhibition received the official stamp of approval from the Vatican. In fact, along with over 150 designer pieces, the Costume Institute's next big exhibit will also include 50 garments and accessories loaned from the Vatican. Other brands featured include Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, both of which have a history of using religious undertones in their designs, and more unexpected inclusions like Chanel and Valentino.

"We know it could be controversial for right wing or conservative Catholics and liberal Catholics," head curator Andrew Bolton told the New York Times. But, he clarified that the exhibit focuses "on a shared hypothesis about what we call the Catholic imagination and the way it has engaged artists and designers and shaped their approach to creativity, as opposed to any kind of theology or sociology."

Though its unclear exactly how A-list attendees will navigate this year's tricky theme on the red carpet, expect to see plenty of symbolic religious undertones and perhaps, even a few bold statements on religion. Rihanna, Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace will be co-hosting this year's Met Gala—which already guarantees some pretty epic red carpet moments to come.

It will be interesting to see if anyone actually wraps their heads around the underlying concept with genuine imagination and novelty and produces an idea that takes flight.

The E! channel is carrying the Met Gala Live from the red carpet at 6:30 pm EDT, 3:30 pm PDT on Monday May 7, so you can record it if you don't want to watch it live. That's what I will do so I can just fast forward through it as it runs very long - for 2.5 hours.

Princess Diana attended the Met Gala in 1996. It was a tribute to Christian Dior that year, she wore this Dior slip dress from John Galliano's first Dior couture collection.

And THAT necklace, the sapphire and pearl choker. I love that so much.

The Met Gala became a joke the year that Kardashian and West were invited - and has only gotten worse - this at one time had invitees who possessed grace and style - not the trash that now shows up -

Did you know that the tickets to the Met gala cost a small fortune? They run $30,000 to $50,000 a person and it seems like it's corporate deep pockets that pick up the tabs for celebs to show up at their table.

And not all celebs want to go to this event as it's basically a command from the Queen of Vogue Anna Wintour to appear to support her pet charity event. She also apparently has approval of what celebs wear to the event.

I wonder if there's a quid pro quo for celebrities to appear at the Met Gala in exchange for appearing in the editorial pages of Vogue magazine since the appearances in the magazine are usually to promote something whether it's a movie, TV show, album, beauty or clothing venture, or whatever the celeb is promoting to the public.
