Where to Start - Maxi Dress?

I could use some suggestions for a spring/summer maxi dress. I am lin my late 50's, 5'5' and about 124 lbs. I wear classic, casual clothing when I am not in workout clothes! i like the idea of putting on a dress that will give me some leg coverage but not overwhelm or engulf me. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I received this C Wonder floral print maxi last week. It's on clearance for $40. Comes in petite and regular. I love it. Don't know what they have left but they had cream, black, blue, and red.

they are out there , it is just the lengths and the shoulder straps that are issues

don't overlook the Junior dept either, there are lots of maxi dresses there that could work and they are usually priced better

I am 62 (look younger), 5 ft tall and wear and XL and I wear maxis all Summer long.

I've tried on that dress from Land's End, and believe me, it doesn't look anything like that on a "real" person. I'm 5'4"and normally wear a petite medium from LE. The petite dress is far too short waisted, and the regular is far too long allover. I looked about 5 months pregnant in both of them.

I recently purchased this Joan Rivers dress, I am 62, same height as you and about 10 lbs heavier. I purchased according to the bust measurement 37".....the waist is a bit tight and I have a small waist.

It's wearable but if I size up the arm hole openings will be huge and the top to big.

I think I purchased the xsmall, and I do not consider myself to be xsmall, but QVC measurements are ridiculous....vanity sizing.

I' m shortwaisted, my legs are proportionately longer than some women my height - 5'5" but I buy petite because I don't like the dress to skim the top of my foot.

Have you tried J. Jill? They have some nice maxi dresses. And thru tonight they are having 30% off all purchases, including sale.

I'm 63 yo, 5'4" and weigh more than I want(!), and the petite large always hits in the right spot.

I suggest Chico's also. I have some great Linea dresses from a few years ago that I just love.

Dresses are so easy in the summer.

Update - I finally found one I like! Got it at Dress Barn. It is sleeveless, has a great print and it is fitted and not too long. i am pleased - now if the weather ever improves I might be able to wear it!

I love maxi dresses for summer. Easy, comfy, chic!

IMAN has a new one that we think is the TS at HSN this weekend. Her maxi dresses are perfect for summer. There are solid colors and prints and a cute coordinating cardigan.

I am 59 and 5'8" and I love Susan Graver's maxi skirts. I wear them just about everyday to work. I also just bought the Attitudes by Renee Maxi dress with the shrug. It was a TSV a few weeks ago and I love that to. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
